Falling in Love with a Irken (Invader Zim X Reader)

You wake up the next morning and get ready for school.

Wearing some makeup and putting on a cute black dress with stocking you grab your bags, kiss Chi and head off for school!

Walking to school you meet up with Dib and walk with him the rest of the way. Having a rather nice casual conversation about ghosts you smile to yourself thinking about how nice Dib actually is. We arrive at school and you notice you haven't seen Zim around yet. Until you walked into the classroom. He was sitting at his desk almost as if he was waiting to see you. He immediately perks up at the sight of you and smiles.

"Hello Y/N! How was your earth morning so far?" He continues to smile. Low key getting creeped out slightly. You smile back and try to hide the uneasy feeling.

"Oh Good Morning Zim. It has been good so far." He nods in approval and just watches you. Waiting for a reaction. What is he waiting for? You shrug and continue to your seat until...You saw a cute metal container on your desk. Looking towards Zim for some sort of comment he speaks up.

"Zim wanted to bring his mate food for once! I made it myself!" He smiles proud.

Your heart swells at the thought of him cooking for you. Excited, you open the container and see sandwiches. There are two and they both look to have Irken symbols on it. Closing the container you look at him and smile.

"Thank you Zim, that is very nice of you." You take a seat and he speaks up again.

"That's not all! I also wrote out notes and homework for you while you were away! Zim doesn't want to see Ms.Bitters get angry at his Y/N!" He walks to you and hands you a black notebook. He takes a seat again as more people are coming into class. You open the notebook and sees hand written notes that obviously came from Zim himself. Mainly because his writing is terrible and you see random doodles on the sides. You smile to yourself and make small conversation with Dib while waiting for Ms.Bitters to start the class.

"Wow Y/N I've got to say. When Zim is around you, he is actually tolerable. He doesn't try to destroy earth as much, he is calmer and doesn't try to kill me. It is funny seeing him trying to be sweet to you." You smile at his statement.

"Isn't it quite cute. I am glad he is trying..." You tighten your grip on his notes.

"I would say he is trying really hard. You know once I got home last night, Zim came over and begged for my help? He looks like he was going to cry! He must really want you back!" He laughs at the memory of Zim being in clear pain.

"He was asking for help? From you?" You look over towards Zim. He was just looking around but stopped when he felt a pair of eyes on him. Looking at you, he becomes a blushing mess and waves a cute greeting. Without thinking you lift your hand up and reciprocate that same greeting.

"Yea, he said he needed to know how to make it up to you. And well since you are my friend and I want you to be happy. I gave him some pointers! Not to mention, if you two start dating, the chance of Zim doing anything crazy like squishing the earth with Mars again lowers significantly." He smiles at the last part.

"Thanks Dib, you really are a good friend." You blush slightly and hear Ms.Bitters start talking.

The rest of the class continues and you start to get hungry. You can't wait to try Zim's sandwich. I wonder if he can cook or not. I mean it is just a sandwich...How bad could it be?

*Ring*

Yes! Finally! You grab your stuff and go to the lunch room.

Scanning the room for Zim, you spot him and go over to him.
