Falling in Love with a Irken (Invader Zim X Reader)

Boloney Boi

"Hey Dib you're back to normal!" You get up and start to walk up to him. He runs over and embraces me quite tightly.

"Y/N! Thank you so much! I thought I was going to be baloney forever!" You smile and hug back.

"Don't mention it! Told you I was a scientist!" You let go of his embrace and give him a huge smile. Both your heads turn when you hear the computer bring the other boy up.

"Zim!" You hear Dib say under his breath. He must be pissed. "I can't believe this all happened because of your stupid evil! You're lucky Y/N likes you or you could have been baloney forever!" Dib crosses his arms. "I would have left you to rot or get eaten by Dogs!"

"Yea Zim! You had me worried!" You frown at the thought that the Irken you held dear could have been eaten by dogs. Zim sees this and looks down and slowly walks over.

Looking up at you you can tell he wants to hug or at least have some type of comfort. Sighing to yourself you hold out your arms.

"Come here." Was all you said. He perks up at this and walks into your embrace. He wraps his arms around you and nuzzles his face into your neck. Dib is just watching the whole exchange.

"Zim is sorry for worrying you." He just holds you tighter. He doesn't want to let you go ever again. Especially since he knows he won't be able to touch you again until he makes it up to you.

Dib is shocked at this. Zim never apologizes or feels remorse for anything. He has known Zim for years and this display in front of him has got him confused. He must really like Y/N to be so vulnerable in front of her.

"Its ok Zim. I'm glad you called me." Looking into his eyes you'd lie if you said you didn't miss his presence. You just start petting his head lightly. He blushes and smiles at you. "Why did you try to turn Dib into Baloney?" You look at him with an intense stare.

Zim sweats slightly and looks away.

"It was the Dib-monkey's fault! He threw meat on Zim! It burned and caused this hideous mark on my face! He needed to rue the day!" He looks to Dib and they both glare at each other. Zim looks back at you once he heard a light laugh escape your lips. God did he wish he could hear your laugh more.

"Haha, and to take revenge. Out of ALL the things you could do you decided turning him into baloney was the most horrible?" You continue to laugh at how stupid but funny that thought was.

"...Yes" Was all that Zim said. He's blushing again at your reaction.

"I always forget how funny you are sometimes Zim..." You pretend to wipe a tear from your eyes. "Just promise me that you won't do that again." You look more serious now.

"Zim promises" He leans in to offer a small kiss but you dodge and back away. Not going to win me over that easily.

"Anyways, it's late. Shouldn't you two head home?" Looking at Dib and the slightly irritated Zim.

"Yes I need to get home. I bet my dad and Gaz is worried...Well my dad might be at least." You nod and led him to the door.

"Good night Dib. Text me when you get home? I want to make sure you're safe. Also, if you feel any side effects please let me know!" You say to him. He nods and goes to hug you. Hugging back you smile and offer your goodbyes.

Closing the door you turn around to see a very pissed off Zim.

"What was that?" He looks quite irritated.

"What was what?"

"Why would you touch Dib like that?" You see he is clenching his fists.

"Touch Dib? You mean hug?" You raise your eyebrow.

"Yes! You are Zim's I don't want you touching anyone but ZIM!!!" He yells. Your eyes widen.

"Z-Zim, are you jealous?" You smirk. I can't believe he is jealous of Dib!

"This has nothing to do with jelly! Zim doesn't want to bare the thought of anyone else touching his mate." He looks to be very serious. He is getting closer to me.

"I am not your mate Zim. Remember? I am still mad at you. Speaking of which, you should leave now." He frowns at this and keeps getting closer.

"Zim wants you as his mate." He grabs your shoulders. You start sweating nervously.

"And I want you to leave now. Zim, I don't care what you want. What I told you yesterday still stands." You frown and look at him directly in his eyes. He looks hurt that you would say you are not his. Your gaze softens slightly. "Zim, just give it time. I'm not going to get stolen away." You look over to your gripped shoulders and slowly bring your hands up to where his is. He flinches slightly.

"You are making me crazy human..." He looks down. "You know I looked up what Dib said earlier. Zim really wants to be your BOY-Friend." He what? Does he even know what boyfriends do? He would have to take me on dates and treat me special...Not that I would mind. I think Zim is capable of being a great boyfriend.

"...You have to ask me properly, and prove to me that you are worth it Zim..." You let go of your hands and turn away from him. We stood like this for a minute. A solid minute of silence. "It's late. I should go to bed. I'll see you at school tomorrow?" You turn to look at the sad but red Irken. You hear him sigh.

"O-Ok Y/N... Zim will see you tomorrow at the FILTHY SKOOL." He turns around and walks home. Not once looking back at you.

"Chi? Did you hear our conversation?" You walk up stairs and start changing into pyjamas.

"Yes! How are you so strong! Zim is way too cute to stay mad at! He wants to be your boyfriend! SO CUTE"

"Yea, I've also decided I am going to tell Zim and Dib everything."

"What really? Why?" Chi starts brushing your hair.

"Well Dib is a good friend and has the right no know. And Zim. I almost feel like Im lying to him. He needs to know my past."

"Your so mature master!" He starts crying to himself.

"Calm down Chi! It is only fair. Especially if I am going to be Zim's girlfriend...." Blushing from saying Zim and Girlfriend in the same sentence.

"OMG YOUR GOING TO SAY YES??" Chi lights up like a Christmas tree and you hear a large inhale.

"YASSSSSS! MY SHIP WILL FINALLY SAIL!" He starts doing an embarrassing disco dance to himself.

"Shhh! He still needs to ask me properly and make me feel better..." trailing off you grab your phone and see that Dib messaged you he was home safe. Sending a quick goodnight message you head for your bed.

Eventually you fall asleep to thoughts of today's events.

Zim...My boyfriend huh? I wouldn't hate that thought....
