|13| I Just Need... Air

Start from the beginning

Kaori: Hey (Y/N)! I finally know what I want to do for my birthday!

Kaori: It will be a movie night with some of my friends this weekend. It'll be great if you came.

You: Sure

You: Really? A movie night?

Kaori: Don't judge us. We've been so busy filming movies that we haven't had the time to watch one.

You: That's funny. I thought the same exact thing a few weeks ago :)

"(Y/N)!" You heard your mother yell from downstairs.

'That's weird,' you thought. 'When did she come home?'

You: Sorry, have to go. See you in a few days!

Kaori: Can't wait! ;)

You turned your phone off and ran down the stairs towards the kitchen.

"Yes mother?"

"Dinner is ready," she announced as she grabbed her plate and walked towards the dining table. Time sure did go by quickly. It was past dinner time and you hadn't even realized it! You nodded your head and proceeded to grab your plate and follow her to the table.

You ate in silent, lost in thought.

"What is that?" She suddenly interrupted your train of thought.

Your hand instantly shot up to your cheek where your bruise was. You had completely forgotten all about it!

"I-I got hit by a ball. Uh, we were playing baseball and I didn't see it coming."

"I knew those delinquents from the end class weren't responsible enough," she shook her head. "This wouldn't have happened if you had transferred to the main campus at midterms."

"It was an accident," you retorted. "It could have happened anywhere."

Your breathing hitched. You couldn't believe yourself. Did you really just talk back to your mother?

"You're right," she suddenly agreed with you, catching you off guard. "It wasn't their fault. It was yours!" She shouted. "You were probably in your own little world like you always are... You know? Akiro never got hit by a ball."

'This is ridiculous!' You thought. 'Who even compares these types of things?'

"This isn't even fair," you complained under your breath.

"What did you say?"

"I said that's fair."

Once you finally finished eating and you were dismissed, you went straight to your room. As soon as you entered, you checked your phone to see if Karma had answered and fortunately, he had.

Karma: Not gonna lie, it came quite unexpected :(

You: I'm sorry :(

Karma: You should ;)

Karma: Just kidding :P

You: I think I should've told you. At least make you aware of it. Because it would explain everything...

Karma: Ehhh?

Karma: Why don't you back up?

Karma: Cause think I've missed something

You: Oh sorry, I guess I wasn't making myself clear

You sighed. You had to tell him about Asano. At least that way he would understand why you would be acting that way. But it didn't seem right to tell him via text message. It had to be in person. So you would have to wait to tell him tomorrow at school. But, did you really want to wait that long?
