A/N: Okay, first of all, I've got to thank midwifeceremony18 for their amazing help. Thanks to them I was able to sort out the Assassination Classroom students in their respective houses and I'm really happy with the result. I really think it suits them and I really want to thank them!
Secondly, I've changed the POV of this special chapter so it's a weird mix of a third person with the whole 'you' thing going on.
Anyways, on to the Hogwarts AU!
FIRST YEAR
"Why is the sorting hat taking so long?" A Slytherin student whispered to their friend sat beside him in the great hall.
"I don't know... She's a(n) (L/N), it should be an obvious choice," his friend replied.
You sat on the stool, facing the whole school. You were nervous to say the least which was a surprise since you hadn't felt any anxiousness throughout the whole trip. You remembered you had gone that morning to the train station with your family. The goodbye had gone by fairly quick and no tears were shed. Honestly, you saw no point in crying. In fact, you were actually happy that you were finally going away.
Hogwarts...
You weren't really that excited to attend the magic school. It was nothing out of the ordinary. Magic was something you were very familiar with. After all, you had grown up in a magical household.
In reality, the only reason why you had been looking forward to going there was because you wanted to make your own experiences. School was one of the main topics at home. Your father always talked about your brother's immaculate grades and achievements and this year, he had been chosen to be the Slytherin Head Boy which of course had your whole family praising him non stop. Of course it wasn't a surprise. He was perfect in every aspect so choosing him as Head Boy was, after all, an obvious choice.
You sighed, your eyes skipping from face to face. At least you knew some people... Though you honestly didn't know if that was something to be relieved about. You considered them your friends... Right? Well, it wasn't as if you had any other choice. Your mother had been the one to choose them for you whilst you had no say in the matter so you weren't sure if you genuinely liked them. But they were your friends nonetheless... right?
"I see... a(n) (L/N)..." the sorting hat mumbled.
You gulped. This was it. The sorting hat's decision would determine your next seven years...
'Slytherin, Slytherin, Slytherin,' you repeated inside your head.
"Slytherin, huh?" He said.
You lightly nodded your head. You had to be placed in Slytherin. No other house mattered... only Slytherin. Your whole family had been there... even your mother! And you didn't want to be the exception. You didn't want to be the black sheep of the family. The odd one out. No.
"So you want to be in Slytherin..." the sorting hat muttered. "A(n) (L/N) would achieve great things in that house indeed," he said. "Though you should also consider the other houses," he suggested
You didn't agree. You had nothing against them. If you had had a normal family and if they weren't obsessed with appearances you wouldn't mind being placed in any other house. But you couldn't give yourself that privilege. You couldn't allow being placed in a house that wasn't Slytherin.
"Why not?" He mused. "Take Hufflepuff for example. You're humble, determined, good-hearted," he listed. "Or maybe Ravenclaw? You are naturally curious and have a thirst for knowledge that you will be able to quench with the right people," he said. "Even Gryffindor suits you! You are courageous, you stand for what you think is right and you're waiting for an adventure, aren't you?" He smiled at his last statement.
