Falling in Love with a Irken (Invader Zim X Reader)

What is Real?

You go and sit on the couch and start pre-occupying yourself with your inner thoughts.

I remember being on this couch with Zim, watching Lilo and Stitch... Or was it Larb? You remember Larb grabbing a soda and sitting next to you. But remember laying and cuddling with Zim? and that night....You feel asleep on Larb and he took you to bed. Or was it Zim? Wait! Didn't Zim and I....that night? We were intimate! Not Larb! right? Gah!

Frustrated, you get up and walk over to your massive collection of movies. You lean in and start looking at all the different genres of movies. All of these movies had a small layer of dust piled up on the top of case. You scan for the movie mentioned earlier until you found it.

No dust. It must have been used lately. Like in my memory...

You sigh as you try to remember the details. Or I guess-

Knock!

"Pst. Y/N? It's me! Dib!" You hear a whisper yell through the thick door. Wasting no time you grab the knob and twist it until the door flings open.

"Oh Y/N! Am I glad to see you!" Dib start ranting and walks into your house. You just watch him and close the door. Once the door makes the click signalling you that it has been closed you waste no time to embrace your friend.

"Um! Y-Y/n? You good?" Dib stutters from the sudden embrace but slowly wraps his arms around you in an attempt to comfort you in anyway you can.

"Dib. I am so happy you came! I think something is wrong with me! Apparently I am dating this Irken named Larb and we are getting married tomorrow! But I don't even remember ever being with him. Well I technically do but its so patchy and I feel like its not real... I remember Invader Zim! The cute Irken that is your sworn enemy, the one that tried to turn you into baloney...The Irken that can in a blink of an eye destroy planets but is magically terrified of bees! Dib...please tell me you know who I am talking about...No one else remembers him but me..." You start breaking down in front of the human. Tears stream down your face and he hears you sobbing out your story.

"Y/N..." He tightens his grip on you and starts petting your hair lightly.

"I remember Zim. Or at least I think I do. I have been having these dreams of this alien that came to destroy Earth. But then I would stop all his evil tricks! Then you came along and this Zim guy fell in love with you. I even remember him crying at my doorstep begging for my help to get you back...Plus at the party a few days ago..." He trails off explaining his own version of the memories and history he has with this Irken.

"Dib...do you think we are the only ones who completely remember Zim is because I am in love with him and.." You look over to him.

"And I obsessed over him for years! Whoever took Zim and brainwashed everyone surly didn't think through the effect Zim had on us!" Dib explains in his know it all fashion.

"Yes! That's gotta be it! And I had a servant cat named Chi who I love with all my heart. I bet they couldn't reprogram him the way they wanted so they just found it easier to kidnap him and delete my memories of him..." You grip your chin and you pretend to caress a fake beard.

"I'm not sure who Chi is, but I believe you! Now! Who would do such and thing? and Why?"

"It would have to be someone who hates Zim right?" You look to Dib for support.

"If we had to find all of Zim's enemies I bet we would be here until the end of time..." Dib chuckles. "Seriously though, I feel like Zim isn't the target here..."

"What do you mean?"

"Well think Y/N...Zim AND That Chi guy is gone. Why would they care about your robot cat Snitching on anything unless it pertained to someone close to him...Like you! Chi and Zim were both close to you!"

"Me?! But who would want anything with me..?"

"Let's go back... What was your last memories before you called me?" Dib pulls out a small notepad and pencil.

"Well...The last thing I remembered before today was Jessica's House party. Late that night Zim and I went back home to Zim's Base and we...um sorta..."You trail off embarrassed. Dib looks confused.

"Did what?"

"W-We made love that night..."You almost whisper out with a deep red hue staining your cheeks. Dib's face becomes a tomato.

"Umm.Ok.. then what?" He tries to write something down with his shaky hands.

"Well right after we finished Ahem...That... Zim's PAK coded mine and we fell asleep together..." You recall the memory of the sensation this Zim guy gave you. Your heart fluttered.

"Coded?" Dib rose an eyebrow.

"Yea, Zim mentioned that once an Irken mates, he codes his partner to prevent anyone else from mating with their mate." You say as you look up remembering what Zim told you.

"Interesting. Is that everything you remember?"

"Basically, After that I woke up in a park with Invader Larb confused.I had a massive headache and my PAK glitched and smacked Larb away when he tried to kiss me..." You look down at your shaking hands. The whole thing confuses you and honestly you wanted to be with Chi right now...Chi was everything to you. He was there for you ever since the day you were born. He was your rock. Always kept you grounded.

"Your PAK glitched? Is there any way to see what Zim supposedly coded to you? If Zim was real he surely would still have left a trail in your PAK?" He knocks you out of your inner thoughts.

"I'm not sure...Computer!" You look up and Yell at your house.

"Yes Master?"

"Can you run a bio scan on my PAK? And tell me any new information has been stored recently?"

A large cord comes flying down and attaching to your PAK. Dib watches in awe. He never admitted it but Alien technology even Zim's always amazed him and was secretly envious of Zim and Irkens.

'Analysis complete." The computer announces as a large screen floats towards you and Dib.

You and him start scanning the screen. Dib looks confused as it is all in Irken.

"There is my name.." You point showing your name. "There says Royal Offspring of Tallest Red. Which is my father...oh and that says...."You slowly point to the heart shaped bubble attached to your name. As if on cue the computer translates it all into english.

"Mate: Invader Zim." Dib and you say almost in sync.

"So this isn't just some sick dream..."
