Chapter 11 - Rescue

"Your reasons? Your reasons?! What is the reason to torture a 5 year old kid and not let them have a normal childhood? What is the reason to lock me in a small dark room all day long, for my whole life?"

"The end justifies the means. It's for scientific purposes, you should be proud that you are the only one in the whole world with a super power like this!"

You want to punch that man so much, but you can't move. They are controlling your body. Thomas and Teresa enter the room.

"Oh, yeah. I forgot to mention that these two young scientists are going to do the experiment." and then turns to them. "Good luck."

As soon as he leaves the room, Teresa goes and hugs you. She whispers something in your ear.

"Don't worry, we will help you escape. But we have to do some testing first, they are watching us. I'm really sorry, I don't want to do this."

You lay on the bed and Thomas ties you up. He doesn't tighten the belts too tight. You realize he doesn't tighten them at all.

"Stay still, so it looks real."

You consider yourself very lucky to have someone by your side, especially here. Teresa stings you with a syringe. The world starts fading. She sedated you, so you won't feel any pain. Then, she starts the tests. You feel the electricity going through your bones. You feel very powerful, but you have to control yourself, so you won't attack Thomas and Teresa. You are very aggressive, you remember every bad thing anyone has ever done to you. The urge to kill is almost uncontrollable. Thomas notices and actually ties you up this time. You thank him with a head nod. You start to scream because your head started to hurt from so much concentration. At some point, Teresa leaves to call someone. Thomas unties you and tells you to stay still until the doctor enters the room. When he does, you go straight to him and kill him. Before 5 seconds passed, he was already dead. The power still hasn't decreased, so you get out. Thomas and Teresa follow you. Some guards want to shoot you, but the Ratman stops them.

"You idiots, the electricity makes her more powerful!"

You kill 2 guards and give the guns to your friends. You feel so good that you finally released all your bad thoughts and rage. All your senses are more intense, so you hear a ticking. Someone was detonating the building. You scream to your friends to run faster when a part of the ceiling falls on Thomas. You manage to take him out, but he's hurt and he's going to slow you down. You don't care, you can't leave anyone behind. The Ratman comes from behind the corner with a pistol in his hand. He starts to shoot. You push Thomas and Teresa to the wall, so he doesn't hit them. You manage to dodge almost all the bullets, but one scratches your hand. You lose concentration, so the next shot hits you in the stomach. Somehow, you don't feel pain. Maybe that's how it feels when you die. But you don't give up. At least your friends will survive. With your last powers, you jump over the Ratman, take his gun and shoot him in the head. Now he's surely dead. Teresa has to help you and Thomas to run, so you are going very slow.

Minho takes the gladers to the Right Arm. He leaves Newt in the Berg, because he knows they won't let him in. When he arrives, he is welcomed by a man.

"I'm Vince. You must be those subjects from W.i.C.K.E.D. we heard so many about. Are these all immune?"

"Yes. By any chance, do you have something like a cure?"

"Come with me."

He takes Minho to a woman. She introduces herself as Mary Cooper. She explains Minho that they need you for the cure, that you are the cure. Minho has now one more reason to save you as fast as he can. Gally comes to him.
