Betty sat up against the headboard of their bed in sports bra and booty shorts, the only thing she's comfortable in, being that she's 6 months pregnant. She was above the covers, being too hot to be underneath them. She rubbed her hand over her ever-growing bump as she felt their baby kick against her stomach. She smiled everytime that she felt a little riggle, just at the thought of their son growing inside of her. She heard the shower turn off and looked up to see her husband saunter out of the en-suite with a towel slung low on his hips. She wishes so badly that he would just drop that towel and come over to the bed and make love to her right now. Realistically, she could make that happen but she knew that she needed to talk to him. Damn her pregnancy hormones, she swears that she was given a whole new batch this week. By the time that she had shook her thoughts away, her husband had dressed himself in pj bottoms and was making his way over to their bed, plopping himself down right next to her. He leaned over and placed a kiss on her cheek before bending down even lower to place a kiss to her bump. He sat back up against the headboard, one arm around Betty and one hand on her bump, where it always seemed to be these days.
"I missed you today." He murmured looking down at her.
"I missed you too." She mumbled, snuggling into his shoulder more.
"And...?" He prodded.
"And...what?" She asked.
"And I know that something is on your mind that you wanna talk about, so let's talk about it." He said, simply.
"I forget that you know me so well." She huffed under her breath.
"I know you better than I know myself. So come on, out with it. What's going on?" Before he knew it, Betty was in floods of tears. Jughead's face dropped and he pulled her in closer to his chest.
"Oh god, I'm so sorry bubs, I shouldn't have pushed you that hard. I'm just worried about you." Jughead rambled.
"No, no it's not that." Betty blubbered, calming herself down.
"Then what is it that's bothering you so much?" He asked, softly.
"My dad." She replied. A look of confusion spread across his face.
"Your dad? What about your dad?" He said, quietly.
"I'm so afraid. Still. Even after all of these years that he's been dead. I'm still scared that his darkness, my darkness, is going to live on in our son and that you're going to blame me for it because I can't live with that, Jug. I love you and I want you to be proud of the life that we made." She rambled. Jughead stroked her hair as she spoke, not wanting to interrupt her.
"Okay, firstly you do not have the same darkness as him. I'm not saying that you don't have one because I know that you do and I know that you suffer with it but I can tell you for a fact that it is not the same darkness that your dad had. You're not a monster. Secondly, our son is a little rascal for keeping his mama up at all hours," They both chuckle whilst Jughead rubs circles on Betty's stomach before continuing. "but he's not gonna be a monster. He's going to be an incredible human being, just like his mom." He leaned in and gave Betty a huge kiss before wiping away her tears.
"Thank you." She whispered quietly, clearly grateful for Jughead's reassurance.
"I love you, okay? Please talk to me about these things because I don't want you stressing over things that you don't need to be stressing about." He said, softly, placing another kiss on the crown of her head.
"I will and I love you too." She replied, gratefully. Jughead felt movement against his hand as his son kicked inside of his wife's belly. They both chuckled at the timing.
"We love you too, sweet boy." Betty whispered, placing her hand over her husbands and looking up to smile at each other and just get lost in their partners eyes.
