Please be advised: That most of the images that are attached this book are not mine. They are images that are as close as I can find to the images I see in my head when I describe a scene. I am only using them for now in order to assist my readers with a visual aid. It is my hope to either create or find someone to create a true visual of what I am trying to describe.
However, the cover of this book was a picture taken by me. I was with my sister. We had gone kayaking on the lake near where we live. I just had to take the picture. I hope that you like it.
The above picture is also of Willow. I honestly can't remember if it was me or my sister who took this picture.
Kat's P.O.V.:
Kat: What is your name?
The elderly servant appeared taken aback by the rude & sudden change of subject. She however recovered rather quickly. She immediately changed her expression to a more dignified one. With an air of self-importance, she glided her hands gracefully over her dress as she straightened herself to a prim and proper stance. Then she looked directly at me as she told me that her name was Madame Minerva the rest of the servants and making sure that the (she hesitated for a moment) family's summer home met the expectations of the (Again she hesitated) lady of the house.
Kat: So, tell me Minerva...
Madame Minerva (sounding irritated interrupts): It's Madame Minerva if you please Miss Katana.
Kat (continued as if there was no interruption): What were your plans for Willow once you captured her.
Madame Minerva: Well, if you must know Miss Katana my young granddaughter has grown quite taken with her. I was going to make sure she is properly cleaned and groomed. Then I was going to have my husband take her to Doctor M. Moreaute.
Kat: First... I prefer Kat. Secondly, I suggest that we take care of cleaning her now before she creates anymore work for those servants that you supervise to tend too.
Their Mother: agreed.
Madame Minerva and the other servants rushed towards Willow. Who apparently took this as a sign that they were restarting the fun little game they had ended mere moments ago. Willow reared back excitedly then began running joyfully around the room. Expertly dodging the various servants stumbling over each other in their attempts to stop her. I watched their antics in amused silence at first. Then decided to take pity on the group. I let a long shrill whistle sing from my lips and called firmly for Willow to heel by my side. Willow immediately obeyed. She looked with complete adoration. Her tail wagged happily to and frow. Spraying even more mud in the room and over many of the people in it. I looked to Madame Minerva and gestured.
Kat: Please Lead the way we will follow.
Madame Minerva gave a slight nod and began walked as primly as possible from the room. I followed with a smirk on my face and a mud coated Willow in tow. I could feel the servants rushing to gather the supplies needed to clean the mess and the muddy mass that created it. Despite Madame Minerva's stiff demeaner it was clear to me that she was along with the rest of the servants had been attempting to keep Willow's presence from the Lady and Master of the house. There was no doubt in my mind that ALL of the servants had grown deeply fond of Willow. She seemed to be full of affection for them as well. My guess is that they simply feared that the Masters of the house would not think much of her and have this sweet one put down. Well, I would not let that happen. The adults in my family think I do not know or understand our family or the world that we live in; but the truth is I know more and am more connected to this world then even they know. I am well aware of myself and what I am capable of. When it comes to creatures of nature and or magicks I am a mother like none other. There is no doubt in my mind that Willow is very special. Anyone with whom she claims as her own will only benefit from her influence. She is a true treasure that is worth keeping. I just needed to make absolutely certain that Madame Minerva's family are worthy of such a gift. They must be tested. I will start with Madame Minerva.
