Once Upon a Time, long, long ago, Belle broke the Beast's curse with true love's kiss. They got married, inviting 6000 of their closest friends. It was a real fairy tale wedding with beautiful dresses, music played by fairies and food prepared by the finest cooks in all the lands; which included a cake with no less than seven layers.
Adam and Belle united all of the kingdoms and they got elected King and Queen of the United States of Auradon.
And to make sure that every single one of his subjects and friends would never have to go through the horrible and evil curses, hypnosis, tricks and schemes ever again, King Adam decided to take all the villains, side-kicks and evil doers and lock them away. But instead of in a prison, he gave them an entire Island where they still could live out their lives. Walk around, have friends, a family, kids. If they wanted to.
And they did.
The only things they didn't have were magic, wi-fi, and freedom. But after all they had done, it wasn't that cruel of a punishment. Not long after Adam and Belle made sure everyone in their kingdom was safe, they had a son. Benjamin Florian, or Ben for short.
That little guy, was me.
I didn't get to enjoy my time as an only child for very long, though, because a year after me, there was a second new child. A little baby girl named Emalia Katherina, or Emma for short.
My little sister.
And this story is about her.Little girl, never left behind,
but always the last in line.
The run in her stockings
covered more distance than she did.For you see, me and my sister were inseparable.
From the moment she could walk, she followed me. Wherever I went, you could be sure Emma would follow.
We did everything together, from playing hide and seek in the castle to building sand castles on the beach. We went horseback riding in the forests and practiced sword fighting with our tutors.
Emma never went anywhere without me, she looked up to me. I was her big brother. And I protected her at any cost.Get in with the girls on the playground.
Speak up,
but her voice was tied down. For as much as she followed me, we weren't the same.
Emma always had trouble with making friends and talking to strangers.
It's not that she didn't try, but she just seemed she couldn't push herself past the thing that was stopping her.
She never told me what it was.Tied to a red CD
Listening to Jaret Ray Reddick ,
Thinking when I'm sixty-four,
Maybe I'll be
Fearless. But that was okay, because she didn't have to tell me everything and, well, I was the first born.
I was the heir to the throne.I'll be fearless.
I will be fearless.
I will beWhen I turned thirteen, my training to become king had started.
I had to learn how to rule, how to speak to the other Kings and Queens, how to give speeches, how to stand and walk. I had to know the law, the expenses, and earnings. How to negotiate and come to a fair agreement for all involved parties. I had to know every little detail of how to rule a kingdom, just like my father had before me.Strong enough to cry out
With the clearest parts of me.All so Emma didn't have to bear that responsibility. So she could discover who she was in her own way and in her own pace.
Fearless.
I'll be fearless.
How hard can that be?We grew apart in the time that I got prepared.
Spending less and less time together as I was in my room studying while she was at school.
It turned out that being away from me was good for her.
My little sister became more confident, and she made friends outside of the castle. She even gathered the courage to play piano in front of a room full of people.Turning around, she found that she
was growing up a leading lady.
Improvising daily
the steps ahead.I was so proud of her.
With a little willingness
and a hot-headed innocence.
She turned her walk into a dance
and found righteous significance. But still, she had such a long way to go.
And to the mirror quietly
she said: "Come on and see me be
Fearless."And as the years passed by and I became more and more the King my parents wanted me to be, I watched my baby sister become more and more the woman she was going to be.
Fearless.
I'll be fearless.
I will be
strong enough to cry out
with the clearest parts of me.Kind and caring, still a little shy. Talking in her soft voice to animals and plants as if they had more interesting things to say than her classmates.
She was the kind of princess birds would sing with and dears would eat out of her hand.
I watched her grow until the moment I realized,
she didn't need me anymore.Fearless
I'll be fearless.
I know I will be!
Ooohoooh! But then, a few weeks before my coronation, something changed.
Something out of her control, out of my parents' control.
Reality is hard to please,
and one day, it knocked her to her knees.I got into an accident.
And I did not make it out.Weight on her shoulders
Could've sunken whole ships. For you see, when the heir to the throne turns seventeen, they'll be crowned.
It was supposed to be me. I got the training. I had been prepared.
But I wasn't there anymore.
Emma was now the only remaining Heir.Far from the life she'd been hoping.
Chin up, but her chest cracked open.It was Emma's turn.
Things she'd always known
had left her quite alone. She had little over a year before she turned seventeen and be crowned Queen of Auradon.
Lost without a guarantee,
in a world that still asked her to be
Fearless.🐉●°●👑●°●🐉
