DEMI P.O.V.: I sighed as I stared at my phone, just fifteen minutes left before I had to get into the plane, and Joe wasn't around or near or messaging me.
Suddenly, I saw him walking fast my way with Rosie on her seat. I felt relieved knowing that he actually arrived.
"I'm sorry, too much traffic today."
"You could've messaged me tho, I was worried."
"Yes, sorry." He kissed my cheek and I glanced at Rosie, she was awake.
"Hi baby girl." I caressed her cheek softly causing her to smile at me.
"Demi, are you sure you wanna do this? Like, for real?"
"Joe, yes, I'm sure about it, she's my goddaughter. I promise...I swear that nothing bad will happen to her. She's gonna be okay."
"I know, I trust you...do you have everything you need to leave?" I nodded and he nodded right after me.
"I think we're ready to leave." He looked down at Rosie and I bit my lip. "You don't have to do it if you don't want to but if you truly wanna do it...just calm down, hey everything will be fine. Kay?"
"Sure. Okay baby, here we go." He kneeled in front of Rosie's seat and kissed her face several times. "I love you princess, I promise I'll see you soon. Demi will take good care of you." He stood up and glanced at me. "I'll send you my address just in case something happens."
"Alright, thanks...where are you going by the way?"
"I'm going to Madeira Island, in Portugal." I smiled.
"I heard it's beautiful, I'm sure you're gonna have a nice time there."
"I hope so." He left Rosie on the floor beside us and hugged me tightly. "You are the best friend I could've ever asked for, there's no way I can make it up to you someday. This is all too much."
"Hey, you would do it for me too. I just truly wanna see you completly healed from everything."
"I know, love you Dems, a lot." I smiled to him and kissed his cheek.
"Love you too." I grabbed Rosie's seat and my suitcase before flashing a smile at him again. "Bye, we'll be fine. Say goodbye to daddy, princess."
"Bye baby, daddy loves you endlessly." I waved at him and turned my back at him to walk to get into our plane. It was a private flight so we would be alone and chilling.
We got into the plane and I got helo to adjust Rosie's seat to the plane seat beside me. Of course I took the window seat, I could obviously enjoy it more than her.
"Here we go Rosie, we're gonna live a big adventure together, isn't that beautiful and exciting?" She smiled at me and I kissed her forehead. "We'll be fine, your daddy will be too. This is gonna be a good thing, I'm sure about it."
The flight started and Rosie started crying while the plane started to get higher. I grabbed her small hand and caressed it.
"It's okay baby, I got you, nothing bad will happen." Once we got high enough, I unclasped my seatbelt and picker Rosie up in my arms so she would stop crying. "Sh, it's okay princess, we're flying, that's all. Look at the sky." I rested her body facing the window and hoped she would like the view even tho she's less than three months old.
Surprisingly, she calmed down as I caressed her hand and we watched to the sky. I couldn't help but think that maybe her mom was around us when Rosie giggled causing my heart to skip a beat.
"Your mommy's here?" I whispered in her ear and she looked at me with a slight smile. "She really is, huh?" I looked around me to check if there was someone close, there wasn't. "Sophie, if you're here -and I think you are- I just want you to know that I'm only doing this because I really think of Joe as my family and I love Rosie. Obviously you get it, you've seen everything since she was born. I promise and even swear to you that I'll always do everything in my power to keep her happy and safe. You have nothing to worry about, I'll never let go off her hand."
I got no answer of course, but I did feel a lot lighter. It was a lot of pressure to think that Sophie maybe was around us thinking I wanted to steal her family. I would never do such a thing and I was sure I said it clear to her.
"Baby, are you asleep?" I checked on Rosie as she rested her head on my shoulder and bit my lip when I realized she was awake still, but quiet and calm. "We're gonna have a good time together...I'll try to never leave you with a babysitter even if you both are beside me while I act. You are one of the most precious things I have in my life baby girl, your mommy gave me the best present when she gave birth to you...now it's my turn to help Joe raise you up." I kissed her forehead and right after it, put her back on hef seat beside me.
She was an angel, and the most beautiful baby in the universe. I knew ever since I first saw her that I had to protect her, it was like I half discovered my mission in this world and life: take care of Rosie.
