"I supposed you know. How" Katherine asked the green eyes girl but it was more of a demanding than a question. "Your little friend Rose said something, but I need you to tell me more". She answered.
"Nothing in return?" Katherine questioned tiredly. "We brought you some blood bags" Melanie said pulling one of them out, showing it to the vampire.
Katherine sped to the blood bag only to be stopped by the barrier. "Give it to me" she said through gritted teeth.
"Uh, uh, uh. Not so fast we need you to answer some questions first" the green eyes girl said as Elena nodded in agreement.
Katherine looked at them for a second and then sighed and sat on the tomb's ground, them sitting as well right after.
"Well what do you want to know?" She asked, face blank. "Everything? I mean I don't even know what it means when I call you my sister, it just sounds stupid" Melanie said to the vampire.
"I only know you as doppelbitch who's still in love with Stefan" the young girl finished.
"Oh don't be rude" Katherine pouted with fake hurt and continued. "In your past life you were my sister, my little sister. Now you're reborn because for some reason the witches loved you, and because of my mistake" Katherine finished feeling guilty at the last part.
"You understand that it sounds absolutely ridiculous, right?" Melanie scoffed. "Mell, it might be the truth" Elena told her calmly.
"Okay so if I was your sister back in..." Melanie trailed off. "In your past life you were born in 1475" Katherine said.
"So if I choose to believe you and I was your sister back then, than why can't I remember you" Melanie said. Obviously she wasn't an idiot, she knew you can't remember memories from past life but they're have to be somewhere inside of her.
"I can make you remember" Katherine said, not breaking eye contact with her former sister.
Melanie and Elena shared a glance for a second before Melanie spoke up. "How?".
"If the people you knew back in the 15th century were dead now in the 21st century you would've never been able to have those memories back" Katherine said and paused for a minute before continuing.
"But thanks to vampirism we're still here. Me, Elijah and.. Klaus. These are the people that are still standing now" Katherine said hating the thought of Klaus and Melanie together.
"How do I remember?" The green eyes girl questioned with hope in her voice, Elena listened quietly.
"Well it's simple, we need to touch you" the vampire said and Melanie just thought 'wait what kind of touch'.
Katherine, seeing the look on Melanie's face immediately said "not this kind of touch idiot, I can touch your hand, then you'll have our first memory alone with each other and boom, memories are back".
"But wait a minute, Elijah has already touched me and nothing happened" Melanie said confused.
"Well you know what they say." She started "sisters before misters" Katherine finished with a smirk.
"Okay then let's do it" Melanie said getting up and coming closer to Katherine before Elena stopped her.
"Wait what if she's lying and saying that just to hurt you. We don't know what her 'mistake' was back then." Elena says looking at Katherine with bitterness.
Melanie took a step back and looked at the older doppelgänger, from above, "I heard that you killed me by mistake. I'd like to know how do you kill someone by mistake?" Melanie asked sarcastically but in fact, she wanted to know.
She needed to know.
"Long story short, I thought you had vampire blood in your system, apparently not, and I killed us both. I woke up, you didn't and... that's it" Katherine said remembering the time she laid next to her sister's dead body.
The two young girls were just shocked when Katherine said "come on now. I won't bite. Promise" she finished with a sarcastic smile.
Melanie took a step towards her when Elena, again, stopped her.
"What?" Melanie asked annoyed. "What if she'll hurt you again?" Elena asked a little worried.
"Don't worry. I don't think she'll want to harm her sister again" Melanie said and with that took a step inside the tomb and sat when Katherine took her hands in hers.
1481 Bulgaria
"Katerina you can't catch me!" Melanie yelled to her sister while running and holding her dress up so it won't touch the dirty ground.
"Oh I absolutely will my dear sister" Katherine yelled back as she caught her.
They both laughed and hugged each other. They promised that they will forever stick together. Always and forever.
2010 Mystic Falls
"Katerina? I remember everything" Melanie whispered looking at the ground, hand still holding Katherine's.
They looked at each other for a second and then hugged, Katherine muttering small 'I'm sorry' to her little sister.
Elena just stared at them. Confused. Like really confused. It just looked so weird, I mean one second she is 'doppelbitch' and a second later it's 'Katerina' and she remembers things that has never happened in her lifetime.
"Can you tell me about Klaus? I still don't remember anything about him but I can somehow feel him" Melanie asked her sister, you could say that.
"I remember you telling me about a dream, of a wolf." Melanie hearing this grew a little tense but hid it quickly.
"You told me the second you saw Klaus you felt something inside of you telling you that it was him, and you believed it" Katherine finished but added something.
"You both loved each other more than anything, he even told you what he was, just not his intentions towards me." She said.
"I remember the first time we met them. The Mikaelsons..." Katherine started.
1492 England
The three of them, Melanie, Katerina and Trevor were at the entrance of the mansion when Trevor spoke up, "so it is important for you two to be polite, do not rush a conversation and always smile" making sure that the younger Petrova listened to him, knowing she will probably mess something up.
"It'll be fine Trevor don't get your nerves so high" Melanie said with a little eye role. "Melanie please listen to him he's just trying to make us look good" Katerina, her sister said to her with a small pointed look.
"Shall we?" Melanie asked, gesturing towards the doors, avoiding her sister's comment. "We shall" Katerina said but her little pet Trevor stopped her.
"Katerina if you don't mind, I would love for us to enter together", he said and then continued, looking at Melanie "without your little sister if it is fine by you".
Melanie couldn't help but role her eyes when Katerina nodded and walked through the doors with him.
The two of them finished walking down the staircase when a lord came up to them.
"Katerina I want you to meet lord Elijah" he gestured towards a man with brown hair and brown eyes.
"It is lovely to meet you my lord" Katerina said while curtsying. The lord just stared at her before saying, "I'm sorry you just remind me of someone". As he finished his brother did his entrance.
"Who is it?" the young girl asked. "My brother. He likes to make an entrance" the lord said, smirking a little.
The new man was walking towards them with all his glorious, his dark blue eyes were shining with his unmoving smirk.
The man finished walking when Trevor spoke up "Katerina I would love for you to meet lord Niklaus". He finished.
"It's a pleasure my lord" she said curtsying. "The pleasure is all mine Miss Katerina" Niklaus said, taking her hand in his and about to kiss it when the big doors opened up again.
He looked up to the doors and saw her. The one he's been looking for, for so long. She was even prettier than in his dream. He was just amazed by her.
Katerina turned to see who he was looking at and saw her sister walking down the stairs, looking like an angel in disguise, with her brown hair falling down her shoulders and stopping right at her middle back. Her bright green eyes glowing with the ball room's light and her blue ball gown dress swinging side to side.
Katerina smiled at her sister and heard Niklaus ask, "who is it?", "my lovely sister, Melanie" Katerina answered with a bit of admiration in her voice.
"She loves to make an entrance" she finished, smirking at Elijah's direction.
Melanie finished walking down the stairs and got to her sister, but she couldn't say anything because Trevor spoke.
"My lords I would love for you to meet, Melanie Petrova, Katerina's younger sister".
Melanie smiled politely at the two lords and curtsied. "It is a pleasure my lords" she then said.
Niklaus couldn't look at her with more love. His dead heart wanted to jump out of his chest, he wanted to hug her and kiss her like he dreamt of doing for the last 497 years.
Finally their eyes met. The second she looked into his dark blue eyes she knew it's the one from her dream, and she never felt so much of euphoria.
"The pleasure is all mine Miss Melanie" Niklaus said, taking her hand and kissing it, remaining eye contact the whole time which made her cheeks go pink.
She smiled at him when her sister spoke up, "I'm sorry my lords but we must go now and greet the hosts". She finished, the young lovers still looking into each other's eyes.
Melanie was the one to break the eye contact when Niklaus answered, "there's no need to. The hosts are right in font of you". "Oh I didn't think you'd be the Mikaelsons" Melanie said.
"And why is that?" Niklaus asked playfully, grinning at her. "Well I though they would probably look more.. luxurious?" she answered with the same grin as him, teasing him. "No offense lord Elijah". "None taken miss" he answered.
"Melanie shut it" Katherine whispered to her sister. "I'm sorry for this young girl my lords she doesn't know manners" Trevor added.
"Nonsense, what about a dance to say sorry?" Niklaus asked, hope in his eyes while his hand is waiting for the girl to take.
"I would love to" Melanie said, taking his hand in hers as he led them to the dance floor.
2010 Mystic Falls
"Wow" Elena said while Melanie's brain was just ticking. "Um okay wow" she finally said.
"I know it's hard to take it all in but I want you to know I truly am sorry" Katherine said and you could see the hurt in her eyes.
"I forgive you sister, always and forever, right?" Melanie said smiling through the tears.
"Always and forever" Katherine said smiling back, hugging her sister.
"Okay now that we're done with all this reunion. Can we get to the important things?" Elena asked and the two others rolled their eyes.
"The sun and the moon curse" she then said. "Right" Katherine said sighing.
Katherine then told her about their family history, about her ancestors and how she ran from Klaus, taking her sister with her, how she killed her sister and needed to watch her when she didn't wake up. And all of her history with the two 'charming' lords. How she came back to her home in Bulgaria and saw that all of her family has been slaughtered.
With a note next to her mother's body, Klaus' handwriting.
Dear the not so lovely Katerina
I needed to seat next to my love, your own sister, and watch as her lifeless body began to rotten. You did escape from me Katerina but I assure you. You will pay for killing her and for running away.
For taking her life I took your family's. Hope you understand.
I will hunt you down. That is a promise.
By that time Melanie was out of the tomb and Stefan showed up trying to convince the girls that she's a liar.
"He killed them, my entire family, just to get back at me for killing his 'love' and running. Whatever you do to escape Klaus, he will get his vengeance on your friends, your family and anyone that you've ever loved." She said rolling her eyes at the word 'love'.
Stefan looked at Elena and said "no, look at me. No, do not listen to her, okay? Both of you, she's a liar!". "Always the protector" she scoffed "but even you must realize that Elena's doomed. Melanie will be just fine, probably the most protected. There's nothing you can do to stop it, unless of course you have this." Katherine said and showed the moonstone.
"What?" Elena and Melanie said at the same time. "Oh no, there it is. It's the ultimate lie, isn't it? You spun this whole thing so that we would have to get the stone from you, didn't you?" Stefan said pointing at Katherine.
"I didn't spin anything, Stefan. It's the truth" she said. "No, let me guess. You want to trade that stone for your freedom, you manipulative, psychotic bitch". Stefan said getting mad.
"Hey Stefan watch that mouth-" Melanie started but Katherine cut her off.
"My freedom? That's where you're wrong, Stefan. I don't want my freedom because when Klaus shows up to kill us all and he will, I'll be in the tomb, where no vampire will enter because they can't get out. I'll be the safest psychotic bitch in town." She answered bitterly.
