I'm going to skip right into the story because you all know how the Y/N stuff works. If you don't, check the story description.

"Hey, Y/N, you up for some games later?" You were walking with your childhood best friend, Akira, while heading to the main gate of your school and towards your house.
"Eh, I don't know... You know I don't really play multiplayer games. I'm never any good."
"Oh, c'mon man! You don't need to be good! It'll be fun, trust me."
"You sure? I'll just weigh you down."
"Of course you will. That's why we're gonna level you up in the easier levels."
"Harsh."

All around you were groups of people all chatting amongst themselves about a broad range of topics like 'What are you getting for food later?' or 'Did you see the way Justin took out the whole swimming team? He's so hot'. Regular school conversations.

After pondering to yourself for a brief second you gave in. "Fine."
"Hell yeah!" Akira shouted out.

"What game will we be playing anyway?"
"I thought I told you already. It's a game for the AmuSphere called Gun Gale Online. You'll never guess what it's about."
"Is it guns?" You asked in a sarcastic tone.
"How did you guess!?"
"Hold on a sec. I don't have Gun Gale Online."
"I know," Akira took off his backpack and searched for something inside. He continued to speak, hand still in his bag. "Which is why I got you this!" He retrieved his hand from the bag and along with it came a videogame case titled GUN GALE ONLINE. "Just think of it as an early Christmas present from yours truly."

His statement made you pause. "You realize it's May, right?"
"Well, duh! I did say early. Anyway, here." He dropped the game into your hands and turned to face the opposite direction. "I'll be on at 5 so you get on at 4:50. It'll take you about 10 minutes to finish the tutorial and make your character. I'll meet you at the spawn!" Akira called while walking down the street.
"See you, I guess." You mumbled to yourself. You stuffed the game into your bag and headed back to your apartment.

~

It was 4:30 and you just finished your snack before hopping onto your AmuSphere. May as well get something to eat if you'll be in another world for the next few hours.

You exited your kitchen and headed into your bedroom. You took the AmuSphere from your drawer and inserted the new game. You connected your AmuSphere to a power cable and lay down comfortably in your bed and set the headset on. "Link start!" You said quietly, careful not to alert those in the apartment above you. Within milliseconds of speaking a white light appeared around you and soon a various amount of colors came into your few. Not long after, a character customization screen appeared before you.

You chose to make your character with H/C hair and E/C eyes. Your skin color was S/C and your height was Y/H. After selecting confirm, you were transported into a wasteland that looked to be the tutorial area.

"Guess I'm going to have to go through the tutorial first." You grabbed the starter gun that was sitting on the table next to you and ran on to the next areas shooting every target you saw. It took you about 4 minutes to complete the tutorial, and when you did, you got sent into a giant city in a dull wasteland.

The buildings were huge with shattered windows and chunks missing from the top and sides. On the tops of the buildings, you could see a number of people hanging out making conversation with each other. After getting your bearings, you saw the closest bench next to you and sat down.

You were waiting for about five minutes before someone with red hair and a bandana walked up to you. "How goes it, man?" He said.
"That you, Akira?" you asked the man.
"No, you got me confused with someone else. Anyway, I can tell by your armor that your a newbie so why not come with me! I'm pretty good at this game if I do say so myself. The name's, Klein."
"Y/N. And, sorry but I can't. I'm waiting for a friend to show up."
"You sure? We got a ton of hot ladies in our group." You were silent.
"Although that does sound tempting, he'll have to pass for now." A voice came from behind you.

You quickly turned your head and saw an avatar with black hair and black eyes, roughly around your height, walk up to the bench. "Maybe some other time, though." Judging by the fact this character acted as they knew you, you could only deduce that this was Akira.

"Took you long enough."
"What do you mean? It's 5 on the dot!"
"I'm guessing you're the guy he's waiting on?" Klein spoke up. "Well if the noobs looking a bit more training, he can come to papa Klein! Best player in GGO!"
"You know, I think Kleins right. Add him."
"Wait, what?" You were shocked by Akiras's statement. Behind you, you thought you heard a feint 'Yes!' coming from Klein.
"Think about it, I'm not on all the time so I can't coach you. And you need friends in multiplayer games. That's what makes it fun!"

After thinking to yourself for a good minute, you gave in and decided to add Klein. "Ah, what the heck! Why not?"
"Hell yeah! It actually worked!" Klein exploded. "Trust me, man, you're not gonna believe how many chicks we have! Oh, and the training too. Don't worry we've got the best team in GGO." You chuckled to yourself and turned to look back at Akira, who surprisingly had his username as his actual name.

"Ready to go?" You asked him and got up from your seat on the bench.
"Yup! Let's head out. See ya, Klein!"
"Bye!" He called back.

"So, where're we going?" You asked while walking towards a huge building.
"To get your gun, obviously. You can't play GGO without guns."
"That would be a good idea if I actually had money."
"Don't make your pal out to be such an idiot. I'm gonna give you some of my money. I just bought a new gun recently so it should be a while before I need another one. Unless it turns out this one here is just horrible."
"You sure, man?"
"Yeah, just take it."

Akira opened his menu screen and started a trade. A second later a notification popped up in front of you. 'Akira would like to trade.' You quickly tapped accept. The menu opened and a small box appeared on the screen. '400,000 credits' it read.

"400,000!? Hold on, I can't accept this much!"
"Take it. Money is really easy to come by in this game. Well, if you play it enough." Akira moved his hand to the accept option and tapped. You hesitated. "Just do it."
"I don't want to owe you anything in the future." You replied. Akira groaned, grabbed your hand, and moved it to the accept button. 'Trade Complete' You opened your menu once again and checked your balance. 401,000 credits.
"Now, follow me."

You were taken to a grey room filled with aisles upon aisles of different guns. "There are two types of guns in GGO," Akira began. "Optical guns and live-ammunition guns. Optical guns are really light but not really effective against enemy players. If you plan on getting into fights then I suggest a live-ammunition gun."

You took a look at the shelves and saw a wide variety of shotguns. This must be the shotgun aisle. You thought."Like any other shooter game, there are handguns, shotguns, submachine guns, assault rifles, sniper rifles, launchers, gatling guns -  and not in other shooters - swords. Choose one."

You took a slow stroll around each of the aisles, pondering on which gun you should get. After having a mental argument with yourself you decided to go with a sniper. "How about this one. The Pelington 703."
"A sniper, huh? Alright just tap purchase, the camo you want, and a robot will come holding your gun." Akira explained.

Following Akira's instructions, you chose the ice camp and surely enough, a small robot came speeding around the corner and halted in front of you. "Thanks, little guy." You said to the robot while taking your sniper.
"That's your primary done, now we need to get you a back-up in case someone decides to get up close and personal."

You were walking into the handgun aisle, not far behind Akira. "Same as before. Go choose out a handgun." You once again began your search for a handgun while Akira was watching you look at the selection.
"You're not gonna help?" You complained.
"Why should I? Real gamers trust their instincts."
"Yeah right. That's just an excuse for you to sit down and relax."
"Astute observation, Sherlock." You rolled your eyes and continued the hunt.

"How about this? The Diamatti has a quickfire rate and larger mag than other pistols."
"Alright. Same as before, select camo, robot will come, blah, blah, blah." You repeated the steps you took last time and picked up your pistol. "Good job. Now we have to train you in the ways of bang bang shootie!"
"...Huh?"
"We're going to the shooting gallery." He took off into the next room. You chuckled and came in pursuit.

You saw him standing in a free aisle and came to stand next to him. "Take out your Diamatti." Following his orders, you equipped your pistol. "For some reason, the tutorial doesn't teach you this, so I'll teach you. Take aim - both eyes open. You should see a green pulsating circle?"
"Yup."
"Good. So basically, that-" Akira was cut off by a white light surrounding him. A look of horror flashed on his face. "I forgot to do chores!" was all he could say before disappearing in front of you. You blinked.
"Now what do I do?"

"What happened there?" A voice asked from behind. You spun quickly and saw a girl with pale blue hair, turquoise eyes, and pale skin. "I saw you two ready to take a shot at the target but then your friend got forced logged out."
"To be honest, I don't really know much myself. I don't really play multiplayer games so I don't know what that looks like."
"Ah, I get it. If that's the case, then I take it your friend was teaching you the ropes of GGO?"
"Right on the mark. Now what do I do?" You stood there looking at the target. "Hey, I know this might be a bit much to ask but could you help me?" The girl chuckled. This confused you. "What?"
"Oh, nothing. Just a bit of deja vu. Sure, I'll help. My name's Sinon."
"U/N. Thanks for this."
"No problem."

"So, where did you guys get to?" Sinon asked.
"He was just telling me what this green circle does."
"Okay. So basically, that green circle is your prediction circle. It shows where the bullet is likely to hit. Basically your accuracy circle."
"I get it. It's quite big, though. Is there any way to shrink it?"
"The circle grows and shrinks with your heartbeat. If your calm the circle will shrink." You nodded and took a deep breath. Instantly you saw the circle begin to shrink.
"That's kinda cool!" You said.
"Take the shot, when you're ready." Taking another breath - causing the circle to shrink further - you aimed at the head pulled the trigger on your pistol.

Sinon pressed a button on the sidewall and the target began to move closer. "Not bad, newbie. You hit the head." You chuckled a bit and rubbed the back of your neck.
"Thanks."
"Hope you picked a sniper with that aim."
"Actually, I did."
"Heh." Sinon laughed a bit with you.

"Oh before I forget, if you're ever in a fight you'll be able to see red lines. They're called prediction lines. They tell you where the bullet will travel. All you have to do is dodge them."
"Dodge the red lines. Got it." You made a mental note.

"If you don't mind me asking if you're good enough to know how to aim, why are you at the shooting gallery? Did you pick out a new weapon?"
"No. I was just bored and decided to see the new 'prodigies' of GGO'."
"Makes sense. Kinda. So anyway, what gun do you use?"
"Sniper. Same as you."
"Talk about coincidence." You chuckled. "Do you mind-"
"Teaching you how to snipe?"
"Yeah... Judging by your response you get that quite a lot?"
"Mmhm. I normally just reject the requests, though."
"That's a shame."
"But, the fact your first shot with an accuracy circle was a headshot, makes me feel like you might be a good student."
"Really!? Wait, student?"
"I can't train you tonight, though. Stuff to do IRL. Maybe tomorrow."
"Thanks. Mind if I send you a friend request?"
"Go ahead." After sending the request, both you and Sinon parted ways before both logging out.

(I would just like to say that these guns I named are from Call of Duty but I know nothing about call of duty so please don't yell at me if I get something wrong) Thanks everyone for reading the first part of my first ever story. I hope you enjoyed and another part should be released soon.

I would like to say there's probably not going to be a schedule for these chapters so I apologize in advance if one gets released a day after a previous chapter and then another being released three weeks later.

That's all I have to say for now, so I'll see you guys later.
