not everyone is willing to endure pain for a mere stranger whom they dont know, because that's an unreasonable thing to do.

unreasonable was the word everyone liked to use to sugarcoat their selfishness and fear too.

maybe if teddy jin wasn't such an asshole who loved to bathe in the fear he caused others, then maybe this wouldn't have happened.

maybe if gray just put down his pride and understood from the other student's perspective, then maybe the student wouldn't be drowing in self-doubt and guilt.

guilt.

though it was a feeling no one wanted to experience, it teaches us so much. though it may be a painful experience it helps us grow in a painful way.

maybe gray being harsh on the student was a good thing after all.

the girl left her thoughts at that, walking towards her own classroom.

the skies were painted an orange, the sun going down as students dispered around the streets.

( y/n ) was on her way straight to singil.

she had rearranged her schedule with both jobs. she was to start her shift in the pool hall around 7-8 pm today, as she was one of the designated cleaners which meant she would stay after school for an hour or so.

from the corner of her eye, she spotted eugene handing gray a plastic bag of chemical detergents.

a soft smile appeared on her lips as she noticed they were specifically good for easily washing out stains on clothing.

eugene flailed his hands around before running of towards the direction where ( y/n ) was going to.

with a quiet and short chuckle, she followed after eugene, but didn't let him know of her presence, worried that he would feel uncomfortable or awkward.

she was quite near from her destination, no longer following eugene as he had turned to a different road—which she assumed to be the way towards his house.

" hey—! alex, are you there? "

the familiar voice of ben park made her ears perk up. she turned her head towards the source of his voice and spotted him trying to 'look into' the screen of some house

' that must be alex' house. ' the girl thought, walking towards ben.

" hello ben. " she greeted the infamous figure, scaring the living daylights out of him as he had not noticed her presence.

"o-oh. . . hello ( y/n )" he sweat-dropped trying to pull back the soul that had left his body.

" what are you doing? " she questioned, turning her head towards the house. ' pretty big house. ' she judged, eyeing the building.

"alex hasn't been to school and it seems he isn't at home either. i bet he's going through his itchy feet phase again." ben sadly sighed, shoving his feet into his pocket. "where are you headed to?" he questioned the girl.

the girl rose an eyebrow, people would usually assume she would be heading home, given the setting and situation they were in, but she decided not to question it.

"i'm going to the vet." she answered truthfully, though not with a full explanation.

"why? you don't seem to be carrying a pet with you? or are you picking 'em up?" he pried further, tilting his head to the side in confusion with question marks appearing above his head.
