Giwonhu Ki was a boy blessed with everything.

Dreams set as high as he would want, accomplishments met by his reach, and a mind gifted by a god.

Money was never a problem for him either. Everything he has wished to have, he got within seconds. Every toy he's ever imagined as a child, was made and built specifically for him.

So, when he'd heard that Donald Na was running after someone--much less in another district--to recruit them in his planned union, it had piqued it interest. (and angered him all at the same time.)

He could vividly recall the humiliation he felt when he failed the test that could get him into the union. Countless nights were spent sleepless, his head cursing at himself and Donald Na for the shame and embarrassment.  He got everything he wanted as a child, and now, his dream to enter Donald Na's union was crushed by his own hands.

He took the most luxurious train, had a personal driver drive him to his new-found target.

The district wasn't like his hometown, it was much more quiet and there were less cars in sight. At least in this neighborhood. He tells his driver to stand-by, to wait until he returns as he steps out of the prized car. He scans over the houses, his nose scrunching at the 'peasant like' architectural designs. Giwonhu ignores the disgust creeping up and down his spine as his looks down at his phone, observing the red dot on his map move around by the tiniest bit.

He guesses he is close by.

"Should we stop by at the game shop today?" a loud voice stops his train of thought, his eyes trailing over to the source.

Ha-neul stand across a ( h/c ) haired girl, who was leaning against one of the park railings, a carton of drink in hand as she listens to the brown haired girl ramble on with a fond look in her eyes.

They were a significant distance away, fortunate for Giwonhu as he quickly slides into a nearby alleyway. He scans the picture in his phone, the picture of a short-haired middle schooler with bright yet strangely mischievous eyes. He confirms that it's the girl nearby.

Carefully, he leans in to listen to your conversation with Ha-neul, dragged sighs leaving his lips once in a while as he questions himself why he has to listen to a girl ramble on about how cars should've been able to fly.

"By the way, how's your little training sessions with Aera going?"

The questions catches his attention. He recognizes that name to be the top school's former top dog (who was recently brought down by some no-names as he's heard.) training? What for? He questions the air under his breath.

"They've been alright. I feel like he's been getting more and more heartless though." You sigh, mentally wincing at the memory of the male beating you black and blue. Perhaps one day, you'd be beating him down until you're satisfied too.

Giwonhu is quick to peace things together, a scowl forming on his lips. If he was chosen over some bitch who questions the stupidest of things, he'll be damned.

Stomping back to his car, he tells his driver to hurry home, and prepare some personal things.

A grin stretches his lips.

----------------------------

It was a lazy Sunday afternoon, the sun sinking down the horizon, the clouds reflecting off of the egg-yolk orange that painted the skies with brilliant shades, and Ha-neul relaxing in the playground park by the lake.

Zephyrs prickled at her skin as he admired the family of ducks by the lake, watching as the little ducklings bathed and played around with their siblings. Although, if she were to be more honest, it felt lonesome without you.

You had declined her offer to hang around for the weekend, saying that you had some personal affairs to handle. Ha-neul was sure that you just wanted to train a little bit mor with Aera. (she was right.)

Her thoughts wonder and wonder until they stop at a memory.

That day when she snooped around your belongings, she discovered notes on your phone. She questions what you meant with the words you typed out, she questions if that was truly what you had been thinking of. She wants to ask you about it, but she's afraid.

What if you start to distance yourself from her? What if you don't want to speak to her anymore?

She doesn't want to lose you.

Not when she's seen your smile. Not when she's seen the way your eyes light up at the small things you enjoy. Not when she wants to grow with you. Not when she wants to see the world and see how you'd react to different places.

She huffs to herself, 'why would I be thinking about some cheesy things now?', she stands up from the swing, 'I should go see ( y/n ). Who knows, maybe she's being beaten black and blue again—'

A metal bat makes contact with the back of her head before she could turn, her vision dissipating into darkness as she tries to fight for her consciousness.

----------------------------

You unwrap the bandages around your knuckles, flexing and stretching your fingers as a wave of comfort washes over your hands.

Your knuckles were painted with red and blue, the pain still lingering but you'd already become accustomed to it.

"You've gotten better since day one, ( y/n ). Maybe when you're not much of a wimp you can beat me up." Aera teases from the other side of the training room, also undoing his own hand-wraps.

you roll your eyes at his words, but before you're able to retort, your phone rings. You immediately rush to the locker rooms once you recognize it to be Ha-neul calling (you knew from the ringtone.)

Without much thought, you answer, expecting her to tell you about the ducks at the lake, or the food she received from the elders. A smile creeps to your lips at the thought.

"Better hurry over unless you want your little girlfriend to die."

Your heart sinks.
