I was awoken the next morning to loud knocking at my door. I quickly shot out of bed my foot hitting my trunk that I carelessly set next to my bed. I winced and looked at my toes before quickly opening the door to see a black hair man in a long black robe staring at me.
"Um.. Hello?" I questioned rubbing my eyes.
"Miss Dursley your presence is requested in the Headmasters office." He mumbled his facial expression unwavering and awkward.
"Oh. Okay, may I change first or do I need to go right this instant?" I asked
"You may change quickly I will wait in the common room to escort you." He said before turning and walking away, his robes billowing as he walked towards the stairs before disappearing. Turning back into my room and closing the door I quickly grabbed my school uniform and changed, walking into the bathroom I stared at myself, God I look rough. I cleaned my face and did my hair before finally brushing my teeth and spraying myself with perfume. I grabbed my backpack and wand as I closed my bedroom door and walked to the common room the tall man waiting for me talking with the blonde boy from yesterday. I approached them which caused the blonde boy to scowl at me and walk away shoving me slightly with his shoulder, the word Mudblood leaving his mouth under his breath as he walked away.
"Follow me." I was instructed before we exited the room and made our way through the castle, it was still fairly empty due to it being only half past 6. The walk was long and silent except for our footsteps on the floor. Once we approached a statue the man mumbled under his breath and the statue began to turn revealing stairs. He began walking up motioning for me to follow him. We entered a large office moments later Dumbledore sitting at his desk waiting for our arrival.
"Ah, Miss Dursley, thank you for coming. Snape I appreciate your assistance you may be excused." Dumbledore nodded towards him.
He nodded and looked at me for a moment before walking off quickly closing the door behind him. I took a seat at the chair in front of Dumbledores desk.
"Miss Dursley." He spoke again.
"Um sir if I may ask, is there anyway we can possibly keep that name between us as much as possible? I would rather not continue being associated with them."
"Absolutely, We can work on getting your records changed, are you wanting to go by Potter?" He asked.
"Evans."
"After your Aunt I assume?"
"Yes sir." I nodded playing with my fingers.
He pulled out his quill and made a note on some parchment before grabbing a piece of paper. "Well Miss Evans, here is your schedule for the semester, you will be in 4th year much like your cousin and his friends. Do you have any questions?"
"No sir." I nodded holding the paper. "I appreciate your help with my name."
He nodded once more before I left and made my way back into the castle, I wandered around looking for the dining hall, more and more students now appearing in the hallway, I decided to follow those I saw. As I walked I took in the architecture and the intricacy if the castle. Hogwarts is now my home.
"Well, well, well if it isn't Indie." Chuckled one of my favorite voices from behind me, causing me to quickly turn around and freeze. Fred stood there with a smirk on his face one had tucked into his slacks and his other hand rubbing his chin.
"Fred!" I smiled excitedly and ran over to him. "I weirdly missed you."
"Weirdly?"
"Yeah, I mean you are kinda annoying at times." I joked.
He gasped his hand over his chest. "That's what you think of me? After I went out of my way to save you a seat last night!"
"I appreciate that I do, I'm sorry I didn't get Gryffindor." I said quietly chewing on my lip in frustration.
"Hey no need to apologize, if anything I should say I'm sorry for you. Slytherin is absolute rubbish if I do say so myself." He shrugged. "Well that is except for you." He winked. "How was your first night?"
"I was okay, Goyle showed me to the common room, he is a nice guy."
"Goyle? Like Malfoy friend Goyle?"
"Um yeah, I think so. Malfoy is the blonde one right?"
"Yeah he's an absolute asshole." Fred scoffed.
"Yeah he wasn't as welcoming as Goyle." I shrugged shifting my bag on my shoulder uncomfortably.
Fred noticed and walked over taking my bag from me and smiling, his brown eyes bright as he chuckled.
"Thanks Freddie." I smiled.
He put his arm over my shoulder and turned us around. "Come on, I will escort you to the dining hall for breakfast."
I smiled at my feet as we walked the smell of Freds cologne engulfing me, I relaxed into his side more moments before we entered the dining hall, the trio was at Gryffindor table along with George and Ginny, Fred looked at Slytherin table before pulling me with him over to theirs. I sat down Fred sitting my bag down at his feet. "Look who I found roaming the halls like a lost puppy." He chuckled. Harry looked up at me and studied my face.
"Are you okay?" He asked. "Are they treating you okay?"
I nodded. "Goyle took me to the common room last night and talked to me a little bit at dinner. Malfoy questioned me about where I am from but he had an attitude so I basically told him to shove it."
The twins giggled at my response before Harry nodded. Everyone went back to eating while Fred and I dished up breakfast and I listened to the conversations around me. After about 10 minutes I looked up from my plate.
'What's a Mudblood?" I asked, the group all looking at me quickly with wide eyes.
"Where did you hear that?" Hermione asked looking between Harry and Ron.
"S-Snape came to get me this morning for a meeting with Dumbledore and he was talking to Malfoy. When I approached them Malfoy walked past me shoving me out of his way and whispered that under his breath."
Harry's eyes narrowed as he looked over at the Slytherin table Draco, Crabbe and Goyle hadn't arrived for breakfast yet. Part of Me wanted to push the question again but seeing everyone's reaction to it I thought it was best to just let it go. The trio looked over my schedule and told me a bit about each class before we all went our separate ways to our first day of school.
