It was over, my first year at Hogwarts was over. We made it back to the Burrow by apparition I stood in the grass staring up at the place I now called home in front of me. Harry grabbed his truck without giving anyone another look and walked towards the door.
"H-Harry.. can we talk really fast please?" I asked hopeful he'd listen. He stopped and stared at the door before turning back around to me. Everyone else made their way inside and to their rooms to put their stuff away.
"What?" He mumbled slight harshness in his tone.
"T-take my room. I know you don't want to be around us right now and I want you to take it.." I said quietly. "That way you don't have Ron breathing down your neck all the time."
"Where will you sleep?"
"I already talked to Ginny about sharing a room." I lied knowing full well the couch was going to be my makeshift bed for the next few days maybe even weeks.
"Are you sure?" He asked.
"Yes Harry, I'm positive." I nodded shifting on my feet.
"Thanks Indie." He responded giving me a small smile before hugging me quickly and walking inside. I walked in after him setting my trunk at the bottom of the stairs. I went to find molly who was in the kitchen.
"Molly!" I grinned running over to hug her tightly.
"Indie dear! How are you honey?" She asked looking me over. "Eating? Getting enough sleep?"
"Yes." I giggled. "You know just keeping all the kids alive at Hogwarts, keeping them in line."
"She's the mom for sure." George chuckled walking to the fridge.
"Well if you and that brother of yours weren't such a handful." I giggled.
"Excuse me! That brother of his is your boyfriend." Fred giggled coming up to hug me from behind.
"I still love that you guys are finally together." Molly giggled and kissed Freds cheek.
"Molly, can I help with dinner?"
"Oh heavens, yes!"
I wiggled out of Fred's arms causing him to whine and walked over to Molly. Fred huffed plopping into a chair at the kitchen table and glared.
"Oh you are an absolute child." Molly shook her head and rolled her eyes.
"See what I mean! Keeping him, George and the other three in line is absolutely horrendous." I giggled giving him a wink.
"Well we're grateful for you." She smiled.
"That we are." Arthur smiled walking through the kitchen kissing my head.
I smiled to myself soaking in my new found life. I helped molly set the table as we finished different foods, Fred leaning over to grab some.
"Hey. Watch it. Go clean your hands." I said swatting his hand away
"Hey! Don't hit me!" He pouted.
"Go wash your hands you animal."
He huffed and stood up walking upstairs to the bathroom. Everyone else made their way into the kitchen sitting down and digging in. I took my trunk upstairs and set it in Fred and George's room before coming back downstairs and taking a seat at the table next to Fred.
"Did you wash your hands?" I giggled
"Yes ma'am." He huffed.
"Good job."
He huffed again and ate his dinner looking over at me every few minutes.
"See something you like?" I whispered
"Oh very much so!" He chuckled, I gave him a smile.
After dinner I convinced Fred to help me clean up dinner so Molly could spend time with the rest of the kids and Arthur. Fred came up behind me and wrapped his arms around my waist leaning his head on my shoulder.
"Thank you." He smiled and kissed my cheek.
"For?"
"Helping my mum. I haven't seen her this happy in years, I mean yeah she's happy but she also just is constantly on the go and doesn't let herself enjoy times like this."
"Have you guys offered to help?" I asked.
"Yes actually, but unfortunately she doesn't trust us to do anything, she said we'd break stuff."
"I can see why she would think that, you are kinda bad when it comes to your hands."
"That's not what you said a couple weeks ago." He smirked whispering into my neck.
"Fredrick Weasley, we aren't going to talk about that right here." I breathed and wiggled away from him.
He smirked before leaning against the counter and watching me as I put the last few things in the fridge.
"Go hang out with your family, I'm gonna run and shower." I smiled kissing him quickly and ran upstairs.
He made his way into the family room and took a seat next to his mum. I showered and changed into pjs before brushing my teeth and walking back downstairs. Molly and Arthur had gone to bed, Harry had gone upstairs along with Ginny and Ron, the twins were chatting on the couch.
"Evening." I nodded walking into the room
"Indie!" George grinned
"George." I chuckled and sat on the floor in front of them. "What are you guys up too?" I asked
"We're talking about the shop." Fred smiled.
"Shop?"
"Yeah.. the joke shop I can't remember if I told you about it or not." He giggled.
"I don't believe so, tell me about it." I lied.
George and Fred both started blabbering on about the joke shop they had come up with, both of them talking over one another while they did so. I chuckled at them pulling my legs up before I continued to watch their conversation unfold. I never realized how much Fred talked with his hands or moved when speaking until this conversation. Their excitement grew more and more as they mentioned new inventions, potions, or prank toys they were going to create.
I leaned back against the chair behind me and continued to watch, giving absolutely no input just enjoying. I enjoyed watching the man I was absolutely crazy for talk about his future, his success. I knew the two boys with flaming red hair that sat in front of me were going to do big things one day and I couldn't wait to watch it all unfold.
