Getting back in the routine of school without the twins was weird, the vibe of Hogwarts as a whole was also weird, Harry invited me to hang out with him the rest of the trio and Ginny as often as I could swing it which I was extremely grateful for.
Harry had spent time getting to know the new potions teacher in hopes to get some information from him about Tom Riddle. In his attempts of getting closer to Professor Slughorn he was invited along with Hermione to a dinner, Ron attempting to hide his annoyance but failing miserably.
"Ron? Why don't you and I got to the quidditch pitch and we can practice for the house cup this weekend." I suggested.
"You don't know how to fly on a broom." He mumbled.
"Exactly, so you'd get plenty of practice."
"Thanks for the offer but I'll just hang out in the common room with Ginny."
"Oh.. Uh mate Ginny was invited as well." Harry spoke up.
"Bloody hell! Why was I the only one in our group not invited?!"
"Um.. hi?" I gasped jokingly offended.
Ron huffed and glared at me causing Harry to chuckle.
"Ron we are allowed to bring a date to the party." Hermione spoke up.
"Oh so you're going to take Cormac aren't you?" He scoffed.
"I was going to invite you but lord maybe I wont now." Hermione huffed.
"Alright Im not appreciating the tension here so I'm just gonna go." I nodded getting up quickly and leaving the dining hall. I made my way back to the dungeons to write Fred. After finishing my letter and hiding out in my room a while longer I went up to find Hedwig in the Owlery. I tied he letter to his leg and gave him a treat before sending him off to find Fred.
As I was leaving the Owlery I was walking down the hallway and spotted Draco walking quickly out of the room of requirement. I continued towards the dungeons.
"Hi Malfoy." I smiled catching up to him a bit later.
"Oh, what do you want Evans." He scoffed. This whole stupid hating each other in secret is really annoying but I continued to play along.
"I just wanted to say I hope you lose at the Quidditch Cup this weekend." I shrugged he chuckled slightly at my lame attempt to cover what I really meant.
"Thanks Evans, means a lot." He smiled
"I know, now you're presence is disgusting me. So bye." I scoffed walking into the dungeons.
Gryffindors won the house cup and much to everyone's surprise Ronald got himself a girlfriend.
I stayed back at Hogwarts to finish an assignment but went home on New Year's Eve to spend a few days with the Weasleys. I got off the train at kings gross and made my way to the Leaky Cauldron to use the Floo Network to get to the Burrow. I landed in the kitchen of the Burrow stepping out of the fireplace looking around, voices flooded into the room from the living room so I made my way over to see who was there.
The trio, Ginny, Arthur and Molly all sat in the chairs or on the couch, as the twins were sat on the floor, Professor Lupin and his wife sat next to them
"Am I interrupting something?" I asked with a giggle setting my trunk down.
All heads immediately shot up or turned to look at me everyone's face covered in a grin. Molly stood up running over to hug me pulling me to her tightly. "Oh my goodness you are home! I didn't think we would get to see you. You look skinny, have you eaten? Here let me feed you come with me."
"Mum, mum relax." Fred chuckled walking over and wrapping his arms around me. "Hello my love." He whispered leaning down to kiss me softly.
"Hi baby." I smiled kissing him back.
"Nasty." George laughed from the floor, Fred grabbed a pillow on the couch and threw it at him.
"If I knew you were coming I would have come to pick you up."
"I wanted it to be a surprise, I didn't think you were gonna be here so I was just gonna come and see you tomorrow but looks like it worked out in our favor didn't it." I giggled.
"Looks like it indeed did, here let me help you get your trunk upstairs." He smiled.
'Thanks Freddie." I smiled. He picked it up and walked it to my room setting it down, Lupin and Tonks had made their way over giving me a hug before they walked towards the door after saying their goodbyes.
Harry came over to hug me when a loud boom sounded from outside, over Lupins shoulder I could see fire forming around the outside of the house and dark shadows landing and forming into people. Harry quickly ran outside his wand ready causing Lupin and Tonks to follow after him. I watched as Harry ran after the figure of a woman who proudly chatted that she had killed Sirius, my eyes went wide and I looked at molly who nodded that it was true.
I grabbed my wand from my bag and gave her a small smile as I ran past her she called out to me to stop but I couldn't, I knew that If I did harry would get hurt, or worse.. Killed. I ran towards the fire and took a step through a narrow opening as I heard Fred call my name from the door. I took a moment to turn back as I saw George holding him back. I ran after Harry as he followed the unknown female deeper into the smog and weeds.
I turned towards a rustling in the trees and yelled out 'Stupify' knocking a man over and I continued to run, I saw harry stop a little bit away in the middle of a clearing his wand up and ready as he waited for someone to appear to hurt him. I had almost made it into the clearing when I was hit by the stunning spell and the next thing I saw was darkness and I felt myself twisting and pulling as I was taken from the Burrow.
