Heart Strings from the Medium (karkat x reader)

So in the spirit of Valentine's day

I'm posting a special chapter

because i need to make someone happy 

while I'm all alone

        Karkat went home once the storm died down. It was February but still snowed like fuck. New York weather was never predictable. As soon as he left, you went off to bed. 

        Being pretty tired from last night, you slept more than usual. By the looks of things, your dad has already left for work. You sat up in your bed and took a look at the clock. 10:24. You sighed and stumbled out of bed. Checking your phone, you got a notification. "Valentine's Day" you sighed and xed out. 

        You never really celebrated it, mostly because you had no one to celebrate it with. You peered out the window, seeing the fresh snow on the street and the rooftops. he weather has no chill, you thought to yourself and chuckled. As you made your way downstairs, you find a heart shaped box with with a valentine attached to it. You smiled, knowing your father who always tried to surprise you. 

        Opening the box, you find it filled with many chocolates. You picked one up and put it in your mouth, reading the card.

        To my lovely daughter,

               I love you. Have a great Valentine's day.

        You smile, reading the card. Picking up the box, you head up to your room. Getting your laptop, you take a seat on your bed. Netflix was perfect for this weather. Just as you open Chrome, you hear a car honk outside. You sighed and went to the window to see who it was. Outside stood Kankri and Karkat. Kankri waved at you as Karkat stood, arms crossed. 

        You quickly ran downsatirs to the door, flinging it open. Kankri saw you and walked over to you. Like the last time you saqw him, he was wearing his red sweater. He smiled

        "In the spirit of Valentine's Day, our Vantas family invites you to come with us to the movies," he said, smiling. He leaned over to you and whispered into your ear, "It was mainly Karkat's idea actually" he winked at you. You felt your face start to grow red and decided to go throw your jacket on. 

        The entire car ride, Kasper and Kankri argued over which movie they should watch. Kasper suggested 50 shades of Gray, which everyone quickly said no to. Kankri insisted on watching Project Almanac, which everyone agreed to until you got there and realised it was sold out. You instead went to see Big Hero 6. 

        Kankri bought 3 large popcorns and handed one to Kasper and the other to Karkat and you. Kasper opened the doors of the movie theater, his pants pulled up over his chest. you always wondered why he wore those. You and Karkat took a seat in the middle as Kankri and Kaper took a seat far away from you. Kasper winked at you once again, causing y

ou to blush.        

        Towards the end of movie, you were interupted by a honking sound. Turning around, you find a tall, skinny guy with lots of facepaint on and tall horns. Horns, you thouht. he must be a troll too. Karkat turned towards the guy too and facepalmed. 

        "Gamzee. What the fuck?" He whispered under his breath. Gamzee smiled and honked once again. You turned to Karkat. Gamzee was it? You turned back towards Gazmee and smiled. 

        "Nice to meet you Gamzee. I'm (y/n)" You smiled at him, not paying attention to the movie anymore. You watched it before. Instead, you decided to talk to Gamzee. Karkat puffed up his cheeks.

        "You know Gamzee, how about you get the fuck out of here?" Karkat was now angry. You were not sure why, but you just assumed it was the regular him.

        "So you guys are dating and all?" He asked, honking his honk once again. Your face turned red. You shook your head in a no, fumbling. Karkat's face was now red too, but he said nothing. "so you're avaliable?" He said, grabbing your hand and writing his phone number on it. Karkat looked pissed now. 

        The end credits rolled and Gamzee got up, honking his honk once again. You didn't question him, you just rolled with it. Gamzee picked you up and carried you out of the movie theater as you laughed, telling him to put you down.

        Karkat's POV:

        I watched as Gamzee carried (y/n) out of the movie theater. She just laughed. I clenched my fists, feeling the nails dig into my skin. I couldn't let that bastard take her away from me. I had to act fast. I saw Kankri faceplam himself as Kasper shook his head

        Fanfuckingtastic. My selfesteem has reached rock bottom. I burried my face in the collar of my sweater. I had to come up with a way to get her back. If I didn't... I don't want to think about it. As much as I despised the idea, I had to go through with it. 

        Walking up to Kasper and Kankri, I asked them for relationship advice. 

        Back to The all seeing narrator/ your POV

        You laughed as Gamzee carried you out. "Cmmon, put me down already" you laughed. He just shook his head. You saw Karkat walk behind you two, Kankri and Kasper following him. he looked sad. You attempted to get back down onto the ground, but Gamzee was too strong.

        As you reached Kasper's car, Gamzee put you down. You hugged Gamzee a goodbye as he whispered into your ear "Call me" and left, honking along as he walked. You blushed as Karkat got into the car, you following behind him.  Everyone were silent the entire car ride home.

        "Thank's for the ride" you say, stumbling out of the car and into the cold snow. You head towards your door when you hear the car driving off. You look down at the ground and sigh, opening your door and walking inside. You head to your room up the stairs and plop down onto your bed, closing you eyes.

        You must have dosed off, because you were awoken by the sound of a car honk outside. You get up, rubbing the sleep out of your eyes, and look outside through your window. Your mouth curved into a smile at what you saw.

        Outside stood Karkat, in your driveway, holding red heart shaped balloons. Kankri and Kasper stood beside him, holding two signs. Kankri held up a sign that said "WILL YOU", while Kasper held up a sign saying "GO OUT WITH ME?" 

        You rushed downstairs towards the door, swingng it open, and ran up to Karkat. He had a smile on his face, his cheeks bright pink. He handed you the balloons as you hugged him. He was still for a second, but hugged you back. You just stood  there, hugging each other for a minute or so. "So is that a yes?" Karkat asked, chuckling. 

        "Of course," you laughed. All of a sudden, Kasper threw his sign to the side and started running around in his pnts that reached up to his neck, laughing. Kankri just facepalmed once agian and walked up to Karkat and you. 

        "Congrats little brother," he smiled and left the two of you. From the corner of your eye, you saw Kasper wink at you. You blushed just as Karkat's lips smashed against yours. This was your first kiss ever, and you were glad he was the one to steal it.

I feel horrible for disappointing all of you

I kept getting distracted by little human children

being forced to draw
