Hiro Hamada x Reader

You trip on one of the steam vents on the ground and crash to the floor with a thud. Pain begins to rise at your knees and palms.

A strong hand tugs you back up and you see that the owner and the men have caught up to you.

"Not so brave now, huh?" The owner smirks at you.

You spit in his face and he throws you to the ground, making you hit your head and slowly fade out to unconsciousness.

When you wake up you're in the hospital and everyone is standing around your bed.

"She's awake!" Fred shouts.

Everyone moved closer to the bed and looked at you and smiled.

"Thank goodness you're alright!" Honey smiles.

"I was worried sick about you! Why didn't you tell us where you were?" Aunt Cass speaks.

"How did... you know where... I was?" You speak slowly due to medication.

"Go Go was out driving when she saw you getting attacked by those guys." Wasabi explains.

"Yeah and she was all KAPOW and SHAZAM and KAPOWEY!" Fred says while acting out the moves.

You smile softly.

"Thanks..."

You open your eyes and look around the room. It has been a couple of weeks after the hospital incident and you've been isolating yourself in Hiro's room, which is now yours.

You turn your head and look at Tadashi's bed. How did Hiro cope with him being gone? You know it was a struggle. He almost killed the man who let Tadashi die. But how did he eventually get over it?

How...?

You stare at the ceiling listening to the cars outside. Hiro would be at the lab now... so would you.

You sigh and start to cry.

"Hiro..."

"Hiro!!!" You scream as your robot throws a glass at you.

No matter how many times you try to make this thing work, it always stuffs up. First it tried to kill you and now... well it's still trying to kill you.

The door to your lab opens and Honey enters.

"What happened?" She asks.

"My robot is a murderer." You groan.

Honey giggles softly and walks over to your robot; turning it off. She sits on a chair next to you and hands you a paper bag.

"What is it?" You ask taking the bag.

"I thought you might be hungry." She says.

You open up the bag to see your favorite sweet; chocolate mini cake.

Mmmm...

You smile and thank Honey, and take a bite out of the delicious cake.

"How are you coping?" Honey asks you gently, as if her words would hurt you.

You look down at the floor and shrug slightly.

"I'm ok..." You say.

Honey puts her hand on your shoulder.

"I know it's hard but... you can't live your life in the past. Hiro would've wanted you to keep moving."

"I know that."

Honey kisses the top of your head and helps you with your robot for the rest of the day.

You smile as you flick through the picture book. There are so many pictures of you and Hiro when you two were little.

So many memories come from these pictures. Like the picture of you and Hiro in junior primary school; you were crying and he was patting your head.

What had happened was you had fallen over and scraped your knee and Hiro saw. He immediately ran up to you and comforted you by patting your head. You felt better but you kept crying so that he would stay with you.

That was the first time you two met.

There were other pictures like you, Hiro, and Tadashi at the carnival park. Hiro and Tadashi forced you to go on the spooky roller coaster and when you got off they bought you an ice cream.

There are heaps of memories in that small picture book. The last photo in there was a picture of Hiro giving the camera a thumbs up. He was smiling so widely.

You smile and run your fingers over the picture tearing up. But this time it was tears of happiness.

"Hiro!!!" You laugh.

Everyone was at Aunt Cass's place for dinner. They were mocking you about how you were always screaming out his name.

You had to admit, it was funny too. The thought of you always screaming out his name must've been so annoying. But now you don't scream out his name anymore.

It's been about a year now since Hiro passed away but you're doing well. Everyone has been here for you and you're so happy that they put up with you.

You're happy too. You listened to Honey and did what Hiro wanted you to do; you kept moving, and you're not clinging to the past.

You're smiling... for Hiro!
