Chapter One:
“You want passion, adventure and even a little danger.”
Elena smiled at Damon and looked into his pale blue eyes. His black hair fell into his face and his leather jacket fit him perfectly.
“And what do you want?” Elena asked.
He looked at her for a long moment before whispering, “you.”
Damon was moving towards her and she knew what was going to happen next, he was going to kiss her and she was going to kiss him back. Her heart jumped and was thumping painfully in her chest. Only a couple inches of air separated their faces and Elena closed her eyes.
When she opened them again she was staring at the mirror on her dresser across the room from her. She was sprawled out in her bed and sunlight was filtering through her curtains. Elena sighed in frustration, it was just a dream.
Ever since she met him and they talked she had dreamed about nothing but him. Damon, his smile, his hair and his smirk always filled her mind. It had been months since they had met and she had kept her promise. She had told no one about him, and now she could do nothing but wait to see him again.
Elena slowly got out of her bed and began to get ready, the summer was over and today was the first day of school. All summer she had been hoping to see him but the closest she got was in her dreams. But she wasn’t going to be one of those girls who’s world stops spinning just because of some guy, the only problem was that she just couldn’t get him out of her head.
Maybe he would appear soon, maybe she wouldn’t have to wait for him anymore. Elena tried to envision how they would meet again as she ran her flat iron through her long brown hair. Caroline had tried to convince her to cut it over the summer but Elena had talked her way out of that.
Once she was done getting ready she made her way into the kitchen and began pouring herself some cereal.
“Are you almost ready to go?”
Elena nodded and swallowed her bite of cereal, “just gotta eat and then I’m good to go.” She told her mom.
Her mom had her black hair pinned up in a bun and was smiling at Elena. “Your father headed to work early, so I’ll give you and Jeremy a ride to school.”
As soon as Elena finished her breakfast they all piled in the car and drove to Mystic Falls High School.
“Have a good day sweetheart.”
Elena waved goodbye to her mom and followed Jeremy into the school, She wasn’t at her locker for five seconds before Bonnie and Caroline showed up.
“Elena you will never guess what we just saw.” Bonnie said excitedly.
Without giving Elena a chance to even open her mouth Caroline launched into the story, “so we were walking down the hall and when we walked by the office we happened to look in and we saw someone. A new male someone. And trust me when I say he has a very hot back.”
Elena laughed, “so all you saw was his back?”
Caroline rolled her eyes, “that was all we needed to say.”
“Must have been a hot back.” Elena replied. On the outside she seemed calm, like the news of this hot new guy didn’t mean anything to her. But on the inside she was doing flips. There was a chance, a huge chance that this new guy was Damon.
