VII. A Warm Welcome

"Welcome back, Squad Leader (Y/N) (L/N)."

"It's good to be back—"

— ★ Hanji's PoV ★ —

"Hey! Didn't you know?"

"Guess what!"

"They said the Humanity's Strongest came back from a mission she finished herself!"

"Really!? That (Y/N) (L/N) is just amazing!"

Cadets and Squad Leaders muttered all around about (Y/N), "Her popularity's drastically increasing, huh?" I muttered and smirked to myself because of knowing that my cute, adorable (Y/N) became more known than she ever was, "(Y/N)..." Erwin suddenly mumbled, creeping me out, "Don't lose hope, Erwin. (Y/N) will surely come here tonight," Mike said, trying to convince Erwin, "Just don't get it way too high, Erwin. There's a big possibility (Y/N) won't go down here," I told Erwin, teasing him a bit.

"Nope. (Y/N)'s here," Mike said, pointing at the entrance. Soon after that, the wooden door opened, revealing (Y/N) and her brimming smile, together with Momoe.

"Why are they all looking at me? Got something on my face?" I heard her asked her subordinate.

I guess I need to thank that little girl for successfully convincing (Y/N) to go down here.

"(Y/N)..." Erwin called in a low voice and sighed in relief. He must be really happy that (Y/N) had shown up, and of course Mike and I do, too.

To my surprise, Erwin stood up from his seat and ran towards (Y/N) just to hug her from behind, "Whoa. Smooth. Real smooth."

"See? I told you," Mike uttered, my smile as I saw them reconciling never wanting to fade from my face. (Y/N) returned Erwin's hug for a bit and then they smiled at each other. My cute, adorable (Y/N) then was speaking to him when Erwin surprisingly tried to kiss her. Unfortunately,  Momoe interferes, making me stifle a laugh.

"Mind if I interfere here, Mister Erwin Smith, sir?" Momoe smiled,  Erwin wide-eyed because of the young girl's sudden action.

"Hey, Hanji..." Mike called, "S-sorry, I just can't help it. J-just look at poor Er-win!" I uttered in between stifled laugh.

I feel sorry for him, but I just can't help but laugh at him!

"E-Erwin..." (Y/N) muttered, face flushed.

"(Y/N), I—"

"Kyaa~!"

"They make a very cute couple!"

"I just noticed it now, but I see them kinda fitted together!"

"Perfect! Leaders of the Legion together makes things a lot stronger!"

"Eh~! Will they really fit together, Mike?" I sarcastically asked, Mike quickly nodding as the answer.

"So you're agreeing to it?"

"Yeah. Erwin likes (Y/N) from the very start after all. Hope (Y/N) felt the same too."

"I see..." I muttered, looking down the floor, thinking random stuffs again, "Mike, I'm going back to my study. See you guys later," Standing up, I bade goodbye at him and saw him giving me a questioning look.

"What?"

"You're not going to at least wait for them to come here?"

"Well, I suddenly felt ill, so see you."

As I walk back to my study without hearing Mike's response, I started thinking about (Y/N) and Erwin being together.

I know I was the very first one to see them as a cute couple, but...

"Why am I feeling like shit?"

I have no classes this day so I have an entire day writing this chapter. ^^
