The Breaking Point - Kirisuna

Kirito's Pov:

A week had gone by since my talk with Asuna. The energy seemed clear but I still didn't spend a lot of time with her. I gave her the space she asked for.

The gang was in ALO. We were having a picnic, food crafted by Asuna. Fun surrounded us in the beautiful weather. Leafa, Sinon, and Liz were play fighting after a heated game of cards. Yui was enjoying a cupcake with Asuna, while I rested on the checkered blanket admiring them. Silica played frisbee with Pina. And Klein was acting like a Klein, flirting with some random girl wandering through the park. Things seemed so perfect and peaceful.

I have a secret and now felt like the right to reveal it. I bought Asuna a necklace. I saw it and knew she'd love it. When we first lost Yui, I turned her heart into a Topaz tear-drop necklace. Later on, I got Asuna a promise ring that looked Identical, but it was made with silver and London Topaz. I spent the week crafting the ring's replica in the game and buying the necklace in real life. The money I made from the Underworld's compensation made me abundant. I wanted Asuna to have these gifts, just as a physical reminder that I still cared about her and no one else. I need to make an offering and now seemed like the right time. After all, she is still on the blanket with me and Yui.

Just as I mustered up the courage to speak to Asuna, Liz interrupts.

"Who is that hunky man?" she said in a jokingly curious way.

"I think he's walking towards us too." Leafa chimed in.

"Hunky seems like an understatement" Sinon huffed under her breath.

"Shhh. Shut up he's coming" Silica was somehow embarrassed already.

I Look up at the guy. He had orange hair in a nice shaggy cut. His eyes were a deep bronze. He was a little taller than me and had a manly build. His gear was mainly red with white accent. To be honest, he was a hunky guy, but what did he want with us?

"Uhh... Asuna?" his voice was deep too, what the hell?

Asuna flipped her head up to look at the guy. Her eyes widened and a smile slowly grew on her face. "CHI?!". SHE KNEW THIS GUY??? Asuna got up quickly and ran to this "Chi" guy.

He embraced her, picking her up off the ground and swinging her in a circle. An intense pain struck my heart. The feeling was so intense, like nothing I'd ever felt before. Maybe I ate too much?

The man put Asuna's feet back on the ground. Their hands held onto each other's forearms. Seriously, WHO IS THIS GUY? "Wow, you look exactly the same. Minus the blue hair of course," he chuckled. He knew her IRL???

Asuna laughed then snapped to see everyone looking at her in silence. "Oh! Sorry!" she blushed. "Everyone this is Kouichirou. Chi, this is Sugu aka Leafa. This is Rika aka Liz. This is Keiko aka Silica. This is Asada aka Sinon. On the blanket are Kazuto and Yui. The man all the way over there is Ryo, but we all always call him Klein." she says pointing to each person. Why did she introduce us as our real names? And it was weird because she never addresses me as Kazuto even to other people. I loved hearing her say my real name but in this context it made my stomach churn.

"I've heard plenty of amazing things about you all from Asuna. I've also kept track of your records on here."

"Keeping track of us?" Sinon asks in curiosity.

"HAHA. I'm not a stalker, I promise. I work for RECT. I helped develop protocols and marketing for SAO and ALO. I kept track to make sure Asuna was safe".

Wow this guy was high up huh... He was handsome, successful, and protective over Asuna. What else could he possibly add to this list?

"Asuna doesn't talk much about you though, how long have you known each other anyway?" I sneer.

"That's ok. I've asked her to let me meet you first. I've known Asuna since she was born. I guess you could say I'm close to her father, haha!" He and Asuna both burst into a fit of laughter. I'm just going to say this now... I don't like this guy.

"Well. If you don't mind... I know you all had a picnic, but I would like to treat you all to dinner. It can be in real life too if you guys want? I'd like to chat a bit more with you all". UGH! Why was this guy so NICE ??

"I for one will never say no to free food!" Klein says. No one noticed he made his way back. Everyone agreed to the dinner. Yui is even coming with all of us using the new Augma gear.

Great... just great.
