The Breaking Point - Kirisuna

Liz's POV:

Kirito told me to meet him in ALO for our date today.

I know he's rejected me before but... I believe if I'm nice to Asuna and him, I could convince him to change his mind.

Today was going to be all about making him forget how much I've loathed Asuna now. She's so weak and whiny lately, ugh. Still, I was going to be the victor of this story. I know I'll be!

I pulled open a window to look at the time.

"Fifteen minutes late." I sighed.

Blue speckles of light appeared. A very handsome Kirito appeared in front of me.

"SORRY LIZ!" he said out of breath.

I yanked his ear in punishment.

"And to make up for it, we're gonna have extra fun today. Right???"

"Ow ow ow. Yes. Of course, Liz". He released a sigh when I let go and held his hand to his ear.

"Where are we going?" I fluffed my skirt while asking.

"We're going on a quest!"

A smile crawled onto my face despite resisting it. A quest, just like when I first met him. So romantic.

He pulled my arm to get us walking in the right direction.

"Ok. More literally, where are we going?"

"We're going to defeat a boss to receive... an item." he suspended.

"Oooh goodie!". I mean, it wasn't the movies or anything but hey. He put thought into this and that's what mattered to me.

Finally arriving at the dungeon, I linked myself to Kirito's arm. This was going to be reward-winning acting, my plan would fall into place.

"Sorry," I said hesitantly, "I'm a little scared".

Kirito didn't question it, he just nodded and then proceeded the way to the boss.

"Do you remember our first adventure together? Just to make my sword, haha". Kirito was reminiscing, this was good.

"It was my first time going on an adventure in this world. It reminded me that I was alive and I had a cherished memory to take with me to the grave if I were to die. Minus the part when you broke my quality sword. Ha!".

"DONT say that. You know you wouldn't have died. Lucky for you, we're going on another one. An adventure that is". Bringing up death seems to trigger him. Hmmm.

Suddenly I gasped loudly at the boss.

The creature was a mix of a snake and a spider. The body of a green Cobra. The black legs and beady eyes of a Tarantula.

"Chill out. This boss is levels below our ranking, this should be fairly easy".

Kirito's dark eyes glowed yellow in excitement.

"You will never sssssslay me, peon!" the monster engaged.

"Yeah? Well, we'll sssssee about that!" Kirito laughed and ran towards the thing while un-sheathing both of his swords.

I went to draw my mallet then hesitated. I couldn't go into this like I normally would. I crept towards the creature as if the earth would crumble beneath me.

"Uhhhh" I shook my voice.

Kirito flashed a face of confusion at me. Or was that worry?

With his attention turned away from the battle, the Serpider, yes that's what I'm calling it, swiped at his face. Kirito's health went from green to yellow.
