The Breaking Point - Kirisuna

Kirito's POV:

Asuna and I had been enjoying our engagement for a few months. We wanted a wedding in January, the anniversary of when we met in real life. The rest of the year was ahead of us.

I sat on the floor of the apartment tweaking Yui's "eyes".

"Yui? Can you see me?" I pulled the screw driver away and picked up my notes to study the function.

She blinked slowly a few times and turned her head, seemingly looking around the apartment.

"My left eye is out of focus. Other than that, I can see!"

" YUI YOU CAN SEE?!" Asuna ran into the living room where I was. She was ecstatic about the project.

"I can see you, Mommy!" Yui stretched her hand out to Asuna and Asuna gladly to our daughter's hand into her own.

"I can't believe this, it's like a miracle..." Asuna was close to tears. Our little family was finally coming together.

I re-routed the program connected to Yui's left eye cam on my laptop.

"Alright, Yui. How's the eye looking now?"

"I can see clearly. Thank you, Daddy!"

I wasn't looking at her but I could hear Asuna slightly squealing. It took a while but our daughter was finished at last.

"I need to run a few cognitive tests still. Asuna, can you do some simple motor skills at different speeds? Yui, you copy Mommy for me."

Asuna started by lifting her arms then lowering them. Lifting a knee then lowering it. She fluttered her fingers while flicking her wrists. Then she rolled her neck and turned her head side to side.

Yui copied perfectly. Amazing how we created a seemingly human girl.

"Everything looks great! It's your first day in the real world as a girl now. What would you like to do?"

"I know! Let's go to the park!". Big black puppy dog eyes wounded my heart. How could I say no to her?

"Are you buckled in, Yui?"

"I'm buckled in."

I looked back from the driver's seat to see our daughter looking out the window already, observing the world with her own eyes.

This is what it was like having a kid. Something you're so proud of making by yourself. I still consider Yui mine but... it'd be nice to have an infant...

Asuna put a hand over mine as our arms rested on the middle console. She brought me back from my day dream and back to the car.

"Slow down!"

"Mommy look! It's sand!" Yui ran to the sandbox of the playground.

Me and Asuna walked at our own pace with our hands intertwined. We were far behind Yui but we could still see her.

"Look at our girl. She's the most precious thing ever. I can't thank you enough for making this dream of our's come true, Kirito."

"Make my other dream come true and let's have another one." I smartly remarked as a joke, but I wasn't really joking.

"A baby?!"

"Yeah, why not? Yui's grown up. Let's have a baby when we're ready."

"Kirito. Are you serious? You actually want one?!"

"Yes? Why are you so shocked?" I laughed squeezing her hand at her disbelief.

"I don't know. I just thought you weren't fond of the idea."
