Alone (Jiyoo)

I wake up to this loud music playing from my phone. I look and see that Dami is still on call. "AYO can you turn down the music!" I say while covering my hears and closing my eyes. "Yay! You're awake! I'm going to hangup now and meet you and your house so we can go to school together okay? Go get dressed!" Dami says and hangs up. Didn't even get to say goodbye.

I freshen up and put on some clothes. I put on my usual outfit, which is just a hoodie and jeans. I don't care, I don't have to impress anyone so-

I go downstairs and see my father talking with my only friend, Dami. "Yoohyeon, Dami is here!" He says. "I have to go to work! You girls don't be late for school!" He says and rushes out the house. "I love your father!" Dami says and I hit her arm. "He's my dad!" I say like a child. "Well he treats me like his own daughter as well!" Dami says and sticks out her tongue. "Whatever! Let's go!" I says and we walk out of the house.

"You didn't eat again huh? Dami asks as she heard my stomach growl. I look at her and shake my head. "I'm not hungry..." I say. "Stop starving yourself!" She says as we walk on the sidewalk. "I'm not, I'm just not hungry!" I say as my eyes started getting watery. "Yooh...quit! I'm here for you and I always will be here for you! I'm not going to leave you! I promise..." She says while hugging me. I know Dami but it's not you I'm having trouble with...it's me. I give Dami a tight hug back, "I know..." I say and we walk toward the school grounds.

Dami walks me to class and I wave goodbye to her as she goes to her other class. I enter and see a girl in my seat. She had her head down. I walk over to her, "Um...excuse me...but..that's my seat..." I say shyly. I hate communication! She looks at me and widens her eyes, "You! Oh my god, I'm sorry...again!" The girl says and gets out of my seat. I bow to her then sit down and notice she is still standing next to me looking for a seat. "You can sit here..." I say quietly and point to the seat next to me. "No one sits next to me anyways..." I say shyly. Why am I being so shy? I mean I know I have trouble talking to people but c'mon Yoohyeon get it together!

She smiles and sits next to me. "Thank you!" She says and puts her hand on top of my hand. We both pull away suddenly and make eye contact. Did she feel that too? Is that why she pulled away? Was that a spark? Why did I get chills?! "Sorry..." She says and looks down. "Oh no, it's okay you don't need to apologize!" I say and pat her shoulder. She looks up at me, "I'm-" she was suddenly cut off my the teacher.

"Good morning class! Hope you all are having a great morning and if you aren't...oh well! On today's agenda, we will have a assignment. And yes you are working in pairs!" The whole class cheers except for me and the girl next to me. I hate you teacher. I thought. "Do you get to choose your partner? Of course...not!" The teacher says with a evil laugh and the class sighs. "The person sitting next to you is your partner! Now I will pass out the math assignments and you guys can do it together!" He says and starts passing out the assignment.

What if she makes fun of me because I'm not good at math?! Ugh.

I look at the assignment and I frown. "Oh my god! Class I need your attention! I forgot to mention we have a new student here on campus with us! Kim Minji please come here and greet yourself to the class!" He says. I see from my peripheral vision that the girl who sat next to me got up and walked to the front of the class.

She clears her throat, "Um hello...I'm Kim Minji..." She says shyly as she bows slowly.

Kim Minji...I thought.
