I may or may not forgotten when was the last time I updated and checking the dates I only see 1 March.. So here it is?

Another thing, I have been diagnosed with our ever changing friend that brough too many death; Covid! So it's either I got lots of time to make chapters or my tired ass wouldn't lift a finger.

《 A.N complete 》

"Wynn do you understand me?! We searched from corner to corner for you! We were deathly worried!", Damian scolded me, my head hung low as I half-heartedly listened to him.

Apparently after I passed out Lilin had somehow found their way to the tavern we stayed at. They found me lying on Damian's bed after hours of searching.

Damian sucked in a breath, running his hand through his hair. Tristan placed a hand on my shoulder, his words spoke clearly "Do not worry us any longer Wynn." I could only hang my head regretfully.

"Nevermind that. Right now we discuss the Nightmare Crawlers.", Damian firmly said, leaning his upper body on the table. My ears twitched as I shivered, recalling the slimy and searing liquid running down my arm.

"What is it Damian? The alpha had died, the remaining members could only migrate and search for another alpha.", Tristan said, staring straight at the redhead.

"True, however I am not discussing ofthat. I am discussing ofthe abnormality of their actions.", I stopped my thoughts, looking at the redhead with my face contorted into confusion.

"The alpha especially had acted differently from what was told by other adventurers. She was described to be composed and only fought who she deemed a threat. However by careful observation per Anastasia, the alpha looked as if she was panicking. She had also mentioned the strange howls from her."

"And what is there to worry? That monster's dead therefore whatever your saying has no convenience.", Linda commented, still in the process of cleaning her nails.

"Now that is where you're wrong Linda. The alpha has lost the flaming mark on its forehead. Meaning it had already given birth to another alpha. Yet from the corpses of the cubs not one of them had four horns or the alpha mark."

I narrowed my eyes, bits and pieces of information slowly connecting.

"I hypothesis the cub was kidnapped. It is absurd but Anastasia herself said the alpha looked distressed.", my mind clicked as the puzzle connected.

"Now that you mentioned it, during our arrival in the guild Wynn has caught sight of a suspicious hooded man.", Tristan continued, bringing a hand to his chin as he glanced at me.

However there was a missing piece.

"Who exactly is that man? Who is the working and what are they scheming.", Damian inquired yet the question remained unanswered.

"It may not help but I had a feeling I was something from my.. encounter with him. Do I have a significant role in their scheme?", I added with a frown, trying to piece together the man's action to what Damian had said.

"If so.. Do I pose as a threat or friend to them.", I finished, looking at the others. Damian had a thoughtful look as he looked at the table. Tristan stared at me with his brows creased yet didn't say a word. Linda had dropped her emery board as her hand was still suspended in the air.

"Whatever they are doing, whether you are friend or foe Wynn, we'll not easily renounce you to them.", Damian said with a smile however his words were icy, similar to a chilling ice spike ready to drop on me.

I shivered at the tone yet smiled at him. "Whether I am friend or foe, I won't betray you. I'm dependant on you guys after all!", I ducked my head at the smack received, blankly looking at my lap.

Linda huffed, fixing her hair as she said "Don't be too dependant on us! We won't always be with you so you better learn to be reliant on yourself!"

I chuckled at her tsundere act, before catching sight of Tristan who looked at me. He pursued his lips, narrowing his eyes while he stared straight into my soul.

"When did you encounter him Wynn?", I froze at the mention of my slip up, feeling as if my entire being had turned paperwhite. Damian who just realized looked at me doubtfully, further spiraling me into endless guilt.

"... I.. may or may not have met him when I went missing during our meeting with Luca and Peacemaker?", I answered their looks, smiling nervously as Damian still hadn't dropped his face.

"I may have broken some of his bones too.. And kicked him by the jewel..", Damian's face instantly lit up while Tristan deadpanned at me.

Linda looked at me in shock, muttering "You kicked his.. his pride and treasure.."

"My my Wynn~ I forgot about your hostile actions! I trust you you've taught him well enough to not mess with you again then!", Damian said a little too enthusiastically.

I sweatdropped while he cooed happily, Tristan looking like he was so done with our antics and Linda still processing my previous actions.

Wynn.. How the fucking hell did you survive a bipolar leader, a cautious right handman and a bossy woman?!

I've never met any friend group this weird!

"Alright! Seeing that we now have our troublesome teammate, let's get going to our next quest.", Damian cheered as if his previous exhaustion was gone already.

This time without any interruptions, we managed to exit the town's gates and are now heading towards our next destination. Damian was discussing with Tristan about our new equipment, which wasn't anything extravagant. Only a few bottles of moderate grade healing potions, a new aid kit and a few bought skills.

Supposedly a small number of inhabitants who have been damaged beyond healing physically to use their skills or find no use in a certain skill could sell skills. Most skills are evaluated by category, destructiveness and mana consumption.

it would be illegal to sell skills to any establishment other than the capital guild, located in every kingdom's city. And an interesting fact is most skills are in the Stellar category, which means the skills are a rare fortune.

Damian however, could find loopholes between the displayed skills. From what I had seen, he could separate different sets of skills with the probability of it being backfired, difficulty to master and conveniently, the most compatible with our own magic affinity.
