I'm starting school tomorrow. So updates may get more rare than before. I have also used up all my saved drafts so this would be the final time I will update in a while. I still have hope for this story so I will still update from time to time! Thanks for reading this note of mine ^^
《 A.N complete 》
Footsteps followed by the sound of leaves crunching echoed through the forest. Silent yet labored breathing followed.
Slowly sliding down the trunk of a tree, eyes frantically moved around. As if searching for movement.
Trying to calm a racing heart, slow deep breaths were taken. However feeling something above, a sharp intake of air could be heard.
The air shifted around, getting colder as sticky liquid dripped in front of dilated eyes.
Pushing away from the tree, however tripping by a root and falling on the ground harshly.
Pain. So painful.
The wound throbbed, sending shocks of pain from the arm. Quickly realizing the root, muscles tensed. Breathing quickened.
Slowly sitting up, fearfully turning around. Pupils shrunk, a scream stuck within the throat.
A low snarl echoed through the empty forest, long sharp claws descending closer to trembling limbs.
Malicious slitted eyes bore into quivering eyes, letting out a sinister, monstrous laugh. The beast watched as fear overcame, freezing in the spot.
Monstrous claws and fangs appeared in close proximity, slitted eyes mirroring crimson drenched locks.
Inhaling sharply, I stayed motionless on the ground. Slowly I blinked the crust away, cautiously watching around me.
After deeming there was nothing to be concerned about, I exhaled silently. Sluggishly I sat up, wearily looking at my companions.
Tristan was huddled in the opposite corner from me, his back facing me. Linda and Damian however were side by side, with Linda cuddled beside Damian, probably stealing his body warmth.
When I stepped out of our tent, the sky was a violet-blue, indicating the sun was about to rise. I stretched my limbs, hearing satisfying pops.
"[Summon Naberius].", I slowly waved my hand in front of me, dark wisps flowing from my hand.
Soon after milky eyes emerged from the forest wall, coming closer to me before bowing slightly.
"Report what have you seen yesterday.", I commanded the shadow wolf.
"𝐀𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐬𝐥𝐞𝐩𝐭, 𝐬𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭. 𝐒𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐜𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐜𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐜𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐦𝐲 𝐛𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐫.", the wolf began to fill me in as we traveled deeper in the forest to avoid waking up my friends.
"Did you search for what I asked for?", the wolf remained silent and knowing what this reaction meant I sighed.
"Guess it's not here. Damnit.. It should be somewhere around here.", I furrowed my brows before quickly dismissing that side quest.
"𝐈𝐟 𝐈 𝐦𝐚𝐲 𝐦𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫, 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐫 𝐡𝐚𝐝𝐧'𝐭 𝐬𝐥𝐞𝐩𝐭 𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐥 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐰𝐨𝐤𝐞𝐧.", I glanced at the wolf, questioning him.
