Age is just a number

Dipper POV

I woke up to a new day and a fresh start. Today's the day I gotta talk to Wendy and straighten things out.

The clock reads 9:30 am, meaning I have thirty minutes until Wendy's shift starts.

I get up and get dressed, then run downstairs to prepare a speech. Everything must go as I plan, otherwise I could end up loosing my new girlfriend.

On my way out of our room, I wake up Mabel.

"Hey bro," she greets, still sleepy, "ready to talk to Wendy?"

"I sure hope so," I reply, "but I'm still very nervous."

"Don't be, you got this." She replies

"Would you mind taking over my shift while I talk with her? It won't be too long," I ask

"Not at all bro-bro. Good luck!"

And with that, I head downstairs.

Once I reach the gift shop part of Stan's house, I realize that Wendy will be here any minute. I quickly sit behind the register and pretend to write stuff down, waiting for her to enter.

I hear the ding of the bell, and look up from my clip board to see Wendy standing before me. She looks a little depressed.

"Hey Wendy! Mind if I talk to yo-" she cuts me off

"I went to the party last night, and saw something that I wish I hadn't." She says, her mouth trembling as if she's about to cry. Yep, she saw Pacifica and me talking. Dang it.

"That's why I want to talk with you. Can we go outside? On the roof or on the log near the bunker?" I ask

"Sure, but I don't think there's much to explain." She says, sounding annoyed

"Trust me, there is!" I reply. I regret those words as soon as they leave my mouth.

"No! Not like that! Here let's just go outside so I can explain everything." I recommend

We decide to go to the log near the bunker. It's so quiet and peaceful there, and not one human being around.

"Okay, so yesterday what all did you see?" I ask Wendy

"Doesn't matter, tell the story how it happened and then I'll say what I saw."

"Fair enough," I say as I begin to recap last night.

"Well, after I walked you home, I wanted to watch my tv marathon of Ghost Harassers. However, I was interrupted by Pacifica Northwest, the blonde girl, asking me to help her family with a ghost issue. Mabel wanted me to agree so she could be invited to the party, so I did. We busted the ghost, and then Pacifica hugged me. Keep in mind that I didn't hug her back. This is when the awkward things started. I found out why the ghost was trying to get revenge on the Northwest's and he had a good reason. So I yelled at Pacifica. However, I still tried to get rid of the ghost but it escaped. The ghost said he could only be stopped if a Northwest opened the party gates. I found Pacifica in a room and told her what the ghost said, and she was all upset about me yelling at her earlier. Then I told her I'm sorry and then she kissed me. Then I started to tell her that I have a girlfriend but was cut off by the ghost. Then the ghost turned us all to wood except for Pacifica. Then Pacifica opened the gates and let the townsfolk in, making the ghost go away and turning us back into people. Then I asked to talk to her outside and we talked. She told me to break up with you but I said no. Then she got mad but decided I was right and requested one last hug, which I gave to her."

Wendy looks at me, shocked how long the story was.

"Wow, all I saw was a blonde hugging you, and you hugging back." She says

"That probably didn't look too good... But no I'm not in love with her or anything. She just likes me a lot." I reply, clearing the confusion.

"But one question is still on my mind," she says.

"What's that?" I ask

"Did you enjoy the kiss from Pacifica?"
