Age is just a number

Dipper POV

"What will happen when you go back to California?"

Wendy's question makes me think long and hard. What would happen when I go back to California? How will Wendy and I be able to keep our relationship going?

"I've never even considered that... I keep forgetting that one day Mabel and I will have to go back home." I say, still thinking

"Yeah..." Wendy sighs

"I'll tell you what," I begin, "let's just make the most of the summer that remains and figure it out from there. We can put that question on hold for a while."

"I guess you're right," Wendy agrees, but she still sounds depressed.

"Let's kick off the rest of the summer by hanging out at the Shack. I told Mabel we'd be back soon. She's currently working both of our jobs." I explain

"Oh oops! Let's hurry! Poor Mabel!"

Wendy and I rush back to the shack. Mabel is relieved to see us.

"Thank goodness!" She exclaims, "the shack is beginning to fill with tourists! I need your help!"

Wendy sits behind the counter and begins to take the tourist's money.

"Thank you for visiting the Mystery Shack! Mr. Mystery will be here shortly to take you on the 'Mystery Tour'!" She tells the tourists.

I start to reorganize the postcards that some little kid knocked down.

Finally Stan walks in and begins the tour, making the Gift Shop occupy three people: Wendy, Mabel and I.

"Man, you guys came in at the right time! I couldn't handle all of those tourists," Mabel explains

"I'm sorry! It took us longer than we thought," I tell Mabel

"It's okay! It makes me happy that you guys are finally dating. You've always been my OTP! Hey Wendy, when did you start noticing that Dipper had a crush on you?" Mabel asks

"Uh Mabel, why are we discussing this?" I say to her, blushing.

"Just curious when Wendy thinks it began! So when?"

"Hmm let's see. I think it was when Dipper was determined to break Robbie and me up. So whenever you went to that Sev'ral Timez concert." She replies

"Haha wow! You were way off!" Mabel yells

I blush and roll my eyes.

"Mabel please!" I beg

"When did you start liking me then Dipper?" Wendy asks me

Uh oh. How do I respond to this? I've always liked her...ever since we arrived. I waited a while before telling Mabel just to be sure that's what I was feeling. I guess I should go ahead and tell Wendy now...

"Ever since we arrived in Gravity Falls I've liked you, I just didn't admit it to anyone until we went into the haunted convenience store. I had a feeling that you'd find out sooner or later. I just was afraid of what you would think, so I kept quiet." I admitted

"So Wendy, how long have you liked Dipper?" Mabel asks

Now this I'd like to hear! I blush at the thought of what Mabel just asked her. Wendy notices and laughs

"Hmm, well I have had a feeling that Dipper liked me for a while now, and that can change your view on someone. So I guess after I got over the fact that Robbie and I were through, I realized that Dipper meant well. I've always thought Dipper was sweet, just not in the like-like way. So really once he admitted to me that he liked me, I started having feelings towards him."

Aww that was adorable. I smile

"Haha thanks"

"Aww this is so adorable! Why does every boy leave me?" Mabel questions "I would have never guessed that Dipper would be in a real relationship before me!"

"Don't worry, Mabel! You'll find someone eventually! It just may not be in Gravity Falls, but back home I'm sure you'll meet someone!" I reassure her

"Yeah... Back home... Wait! What will you guys do when we go back home?" Mabel brings up the burning question again

Wendy begins to tear up and excuses herself.

"Oops, I'm sorry Wendy!" Mabel says as Wendy goes to the restroom to get tissues. "I feel awful now..."

"Don't Mabel, we just talked about this outside. That's why we were late. I think it really got Wendy more than it did me. I told her we'd play it by year but she's still really upset." I explain

"I would be, too. But we might come back next summer!" She replies

"That's true, but not fact. Don't tell her that, just in case."

"Okay, I won't." Mabel agrees

Wendy comes back in, her eyes red from crying. I walk over to her and am about to say something when she pulls me in and gives me a hug.

"I don't want to lose you," she says as she begins to cry on my shoulder.

"You'll never loose me," I say, hugging her back. "I'm going to find a way to make this relationship continue throughout the rest of the year."
