(Unicron Trilogy "The Autobot and Decepticon war is over, Megatron is dead, and the Autobot and Decepticons are now allies. With all this having happened, Hot Shot is glad to be on the same side as Wheeljack again, and can't wait to hang out with him again, but Wheeljack has other plans in mind." Not really fluff or angst.)
Wheeljack is looking across Cybertron, pondering, thinking. Now that the war is over, the Autobots and Decepticons are allies, and Megatron is dead, he's not sure what to do. The hatred and pain that burned in his spark for so long still remain. The only difference is that the hatred has died down a bit, but it's still there, tamer but not forgotten.
"Wheeljack, there you are!" Hotshot says, running up to him.
"Oh" Wheeljack exclaims, Hotshot snapping him out of his thoughts, "Hi Hotshot."
"I was looking for you buddy." He says with a smile.
"Hotshot... look I've been thinking." He says, trying to find a good way to put this in words.
"About what?" Hotshot asks.
"About... Leaving." He answers as he struggles a bit with the last part.
"What?" Hotshot exclaims shocked, "Why?"
"Because I'm not sure." He admits, "I've been with the Decepticons for so long because I owed Megatron my life, but he's dead. There isn't anything for me to stay for anymore."
"You can stay with the Autobots," Hotshot suggests, concern for him written on his faceplate.
"I'm not going back to the Autobots." He says simply, "Look, I know you didn't leave me to die, but the Autobots still left me even if you didn't want to. I ca-" His voice falters a bit, "I can't go back to the Autobots."
"So you're leaving?" He asks, tilting his head at him.
Wheeljack silently nods.
"Well good luck to you then. I hope you find what you're looking for." He says sincerely.
"Thanks." He says with a small smile, "Good luck to you as well."
(The end. Also why I personally think he isn't in any of the sequel series, is because he's soul-searching. Hope you enjoyed it and have a good day or night!)
