As expected the agreement was canceled. The Dream Team was not welcome in L'Manberg anymore, the gates were now closed as per the request of the President.
Everything was tense in the nation, but there was extra tension when Freya was somewhere. She didn't want to think much about it, she expected it, she left the country unprotected which led Dream to attack them.
But Freya feels like there's something more happening. Whenever she would visit Tubbo and Ranboo, they would have short replies which were definitely not how they were when she left.
When she visited Fundy, her nephew was definitely more distant no matter how many times he said he had forgiven her.
Patrolling with Tommy was quieter than usual. She felt as though the young boy was hiding something but she was nervous to ask and she felt he was nervous to spill anything which pushed him to keep silent most of the time they were around each other.
Helping Niki with food was hard as well, the girl would ignore any discussion about when she left.
Wilbur was more distant which really confused her. She felt unfamiliar and uncomfortable around them. Because of this, she would find herself keeping out of everyone's way. No matter how many times they tried to accompany her, she would much rather be alone than suffocate in the tension.
She hated it, she missed the outside where she can feel the wind blow her hair away, the sunrise and sunset, the random animals she saw, and the lack of obsidian walls that caged her like an animal because of the fear. But most importantly, she missed feeling free. She missed Sapnap.
It broke Freya's heart whenever she remembered him. The short adventure the two had, the words they shared, the secrets they whispered to each other, it was a different heartache from when Tommy got injured from the first duel or when she saw Wilbur mourn for the death of Sally, or when their mother had to leave them and their father went away out of nowhere.
This time, it was gut-wrenching and agonizing. She connected with Sapnap far deeper than anyone in L'Manberg and that says something because her brother was the President of the nation.
She imagined what he was doing now. Did he stay in the town? Did he go and visit his fathers as she wanted him to? Did he think of her the same way she was thinking about him? Did he play her like Wilbur said? Did he go back to Dream and George? Did he intentionally hurt her?
She had so many questions and yet she knew she could never get the answers. Wilbur was in paranoid mode and nothing was going to change that until something moves.
But the DreamSMP was quiet. No news from their so-called enemies, no movement whatsoever. This caused great suspicion on Freya's side but she would never voice it out.
So, she just stayed at the hidden library of Eret's old home. It was underground and she was the only one who knew except for Eret. But seeing as the latter had successfully fooled them before and was banished out of the country, she was the only one inside the nation that knew of the place.
It had become her safe haven despite the memories that accompanied her every time she remembered her good friend.
She felt as though she had read all of the books in the small library but she would do it all over again if it meant for her to escape the tension from the people she once treated as family.
