there talia stood before tsahik, dawn just begun and she was shitting bricks. what a great way to start the day.

last night before bed, kiri had offered the girl more traditional clothes. so now she looked the part, but her fate was still in the tsahik's hands.

present time, the sully's stood closely by. neteyam and lo'ak were just a step closer than the rest of the family. the clan stood by as well, as this was a rare thing to witness.

so mo'at circled the girl, inspecting every inch of the avatar body. talia gulped at the scrutinizing attention. the older na'vi picked up her tail, her braid, her arms- anything to get a better look.

talia glanced in the direction of the brothers, which they responded with warm smiles. they hoped she would pass the test.

then mo'at used her the sharp end of a bone to prick the girls chest, an 'ouch' coming from her lips just quiet enough only for her to hear. she tilted her head as she watched the woman then taste her blood, wondering how that worked.

"why do you come to us, talia benson?" she quizzed, the younger girl slightly shocked as she heard her full name. she hadn't told anyone that, yet.

"to learn and.. be apart of something greater." talia replied, still nervous but was glad her body wasn't being poked and prodded anymore.

mo'at nodded. "and yesterday, explain the atokirina."

"well, the atokirina just came out of no where when i was at the lake with neteyam and lo'ak. first it was just a couple, then before i knew it, i was covered in them."

mo'at nodded, having heard the similar story from the time jake sully arrived at the village. she wondered what eywa was trying to show/tell her.

although the tsahik didn't fully understand her meaning just yet, she knew not to question eywa. her sign was as clear as day, with neteyam and lo'ak as witnesses.

"it is decided. my grandchildren will teach you our ways. learn well, talia benson, and we will see what eywa makes of you." mo'at concluded in front of the clan, some whispering began as they gossiped about a new avatar.

talia sent a nod of appreciation towards tsahik, who just kept her head held high. it seems she's still got to win over a few people yet.

she felt someone pulling her arms away from her current position, noticing neteyam being the culprit. "what are you doing?"

he responded as if it was obvious, "breakfast. get some nourishment for training today."

clearly the na'vi didn't waste time.

at breakfast, neytiri was telling her kids to be on their best behavior while teaching talia. "i will pluck out your eyeballs if any of you misbehave, this is talia's one chance at this. do you understand?"
