𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐄𝐓𝐄𝐄𝐍
𝐍𝐄𝐂𝐊𝐋𝐀𝐂𝐄 AND SABOTAGE
over the course of the next week, talia was back to the grueling training needed to prepare and complete her upcoming iknimaya. it was now only a few days away and she felt herself becoming stronger— mentally and physically.
though, jake had decided to teach the avatar girl most of the time. he felt she was getting too distracted with his sons, and she couldn't afford that. not when her future with the clan was at stake.
so he trained her in every way he knew; running laps, sparring, practicing balance, throwing weapons and testing her reflexes. sure, it may have seemed like a lot to load onto the girl, but jake knew that each lesson was important for her sake.
on this particular day, jake was teaching her the reflex bit along with some fighting techniques. "you'll need to wrap this around its mouth," he held out the ikran mouthbinder, "then you have to be quick and make the bond. the ikran is strong and fast, so watch closely-"
he then proceeded to explain and demonstrate how to travel the course to the ikran den then tame the one that tries to kill you. his main focus was the mouthbinder to wrap around the ikran's mouth, wanting her to nail that crucial piece to be prepared.
it intimidated talia, like a lot, but she was being trained by the best there is which made her feel slightly better.
"now you try," jake motioned for her to go, so she did her best to copy his skillful and experienced movements. but she was still struggling, so he would reposition her or retell her what to do.
after another long day, talia could feel the exhaustion within her muscles ache. jake excused her from their lessons for the day, feeling tired himself. as they went their separate ways, someone approached the avatar girl on her way to the communal dinner.
he cleared his throat beside her, "hey, again." her head turned to his, finding it to be tsavo. not holding any grudge against him, she replied, "hey."
tsavo followed her as she picked up some food and placed it in an identical wooden bowl to the one she used last time they talked here.
after he didn't go away, talia asked, "is there something you need?"
he shrugged, "wanna hangout? i'm bored and like i said, i'd like for us to be friends."
talia raised a suspicious brow, "i should probably get back-"
"-but you're with them all the time. just saying it wouldn't hurt to know other people." he interjected, persistent on hanging out with her.
talia thought about it, and it would be nice to make other friends within the clan. if she hoped to join the omaticaya people, she should know other people besides the sully's. but before she could agree, another person joined their conversation.
