"actually i was hoping you could teach me something," he was thinking up things on the spot, "like how to climb?"

"oh, i'm really not the person to ask. trust me." she meekly replied.

"trust me, you are. and i promise to be a good student if you say yes." the corners of his lips tilted upward ever so slightly.

talia huffed while she thought about it. would teaching aonung come with repercussions? possibly. would she make a new friend? also possible.

"if you say no now, i'm just going to keep bothering you until you say yes. so you might as well agree to avoid that." he interrupted her train of thought while holding his infamous smirk.

"fine, i will teach you. but what do i get out of this deal?" she crossed her arms.

aonung ran his hand through his hair, "you get to hangout with me, obviously."

she rolled her eyes, "i change my mind-"

"-i'm kidding! well, not really, but i'll think of something." he laughed.

talia realized her cup was empty, "okay then. im going back, enjoy the party." then she walked back to where she came from and towards her mates.

aonung watched her go, "oh i will." he muttered to himself.

seeing talia return after she disappeared for a few minutes raised a few questions in lo'ak and neteyam's heads. the younger brother asking, "where did you go?"

she pointed to the clearing behind them, "i was talking with aonung."

neteyam pinched his brows together as soon as he heard that name, "alone?"

"yes, alone. why?" she pressed.

lo'ak spoke up with a similar jealous tone, "he didn't try anything, did he?"

"i'm gonna need another drink if you're both acting like this." talia shook her head and made her way to the swoa, pouring another cup for herself.

neteyam and lo'ak followed her, not wanting to argue but instead clear the air. "baby," lo'ak called for her, her head swiveled to him, "don't be mad. we're just looking out for you."

she sighed and nodded, "it's okay, i get it. i just need to get used to how protective you both are."

"so what did he want anyway?" neteyam asked, referring back to aonung.

"said he wanted to learn something, i guess. i really don't know." she laughed.

neteyam and lo'ak looked to each other with a confused expression, what did she mean aonung wanted to learn something? though this solidified their reasoning to be as protective and watchful as they were of her.

talia gulped down the rest of her current cup, making her way to get a refill. she was barely able to do so when her mates were busy trying to tell her to slow down. she groaned, "lo'ak, i thought you were going to have fun with me tonight."

lo'ak was definitely buzzed but seeing talia get drunk before his eyes made him slowly sober up. "hey- i am having fun." he replied.
