Your character finds a gazette with their picture. What's the headline?
The task for the day was a rather simple one. Peta hadn't asked much of her knowing the weather would be favorable and the cowgirl would want to go for an afternoon ride.
Farra hefted a stack of boxes up off the floor and started up the stairs humming to herself in the quiet hush of the house. She let herself in the attic and set the boxes down. A cursory glance around the room told her this place needed a serious cleaning. Everything was covered in a thick layer of dust and cobwebs.
"Sheesh, sher'ff. When was the last time ya came up here?" Farra rhetorically asked.
Her gaze wandered to an open box and she peered inside. An old blue button down shirt lay on top with a badge semi tucked in the pocket along with a ring that seemed to be something a man would wear.
"Oh," she softly uttered. There was her answer. Some of these boxes probably had Andie's things in them. No wonder Peta didn't come up here anymore.
Farra left the box. It felt like the right thing to do. A stack of papers caught her eye next. Curiously she went over and knelt down next to it and began to read the headlines.
FEAR OF THE WEST: STRIKES AGAIN
She rolled her eyes. For every day that went by where she didn't think about her past there was a reminder waiting in the shadows to catch her by surprise. Why Peta had the newspaper? She didn't know. Farra set that one aside and moved on.
FEAR OF THE WEST SETS FIRE TO FAMILY BARN
"I never did sucha thing," Farra growled to herself.
FEAR OF THE WEST KILLS FLOCK
Okay... maybe there was one time in her life she picked off one lone sheep for dinner. But it had gotten out of the pen and that was at her lowest point before she decided to give up crimes altogether.
Farra sighed. She didn't know why Peta had all these papers. She'd inquire when the woman got home that night. She kept sifting through the stack.
DEADLY EXPLOSION: SHERIFF DEAD
There was an uneasiness that crept up inside of her at the sight of the headline. Before she could help her curious instincts she was knee deep in reading the article.
Farra knew a bit about the day Andie died but not everything had been revealed to her. Peta said enough to get the point across that she'd lost her fiance but beyond that she didn't seem to like sharing details. This article in the local paper had a few more than what she'd shared.
After reading through the article, feeling sorry for the woman she was staying with, she neatly folded the paper and set it back in the stack. There were several copies of that same newspaper for some reason. The last one in the stack caught her attention. It was quite yellowed with age and the font was different. More bold and dazzling.
LOCAL RODEO CHAMPION SET TO CLAIM NEW TITLE THIS WEEKEND
Farra perked up. Rodeo champion? Why on Ophelion did Peta have this old newspaper? She figured it was for an article inside. Something caught her attention however and she read on.

"Dickens!"
Dickens jumped and then groaned, realizing who came barreling up the path on horseback. The heavy accent gave her away. Seeing the young woman he stopped what he was doing and came to the fence. "Farra? Why are you racing around here? Bareback, nonetheless." He noted the absence of the usual saddle the horse and rider had.
