"What’s up, Jimmy?" Aviva asked.
Jimmy hesitated, then sighed. "I don’t know… I just have this feeling that something bad’s gonna happen."
"I mean, normally Zach and the others would be making a scene by now. But we haven't heard from them for weeks!" Jimmy shifted worriedly.
WordGirl’s expression turned thoughtful. "Actually… now that you mention it aside from Dr. Two-Brains, I haven't heard anything from them in quite a while. I would usually run into them at least multiple times a day."
Martin shrugged. "Maybe they finally gave up?"
Chris gave him a skeptical look. "Martin. Come on."
"Okay, okay, wishful thinking," Martin admitted with a chuckle, though a flicker of concern remained in his eyes.
"Look, it’s probably nothing, maybe your just anxious. I mean, just take a look at the crowd." Aviva comforted him, placing her arm on his shoulder.
"Yeah, maybe you're right." Jimmy muttered, though he didn’t sound convinced.
....
From Zach's plane, soaring high above the park, a sinister assembly of villains watched the bustling festival below, their eyes gleaming with anticipation.
Down in the city park, families wandered between interactive exhibits, children laughed at nature-themed games, and conservationists spoke passionately about protecting endangered species. It was a celebration of life and awareness—a perfect target for mayhem.
Hacker leaned over the control panel, peering at the crowd with a smug grin. "Look at them! Those naive Earthlings have no idea what we have planned! Soon, WordGirl, the Kratt brothers, and those pesky Cybersquad kids will be out of the picture, and this city will belong to us!"
"Are you sure they’ll even show up?" Zach Varmitech asked, arms crossed. "Because I don’t want to waste my time if—"
"Of course they'll show up!" Hacker interrupted. "They wouldn’t miss an event like this for the world! Just keep your eyes open!"
A hesitant voice chimed in. "Uh, Hacker?"
Hacker turned sharply. "It’s THE Hacker to you!" he snapped at Chuck the Evil Sandwich-Making Guy, who flinched under his glare.
"R-right, THE Hacker," Chuck stammered, rubbing the back of his neck. "I was just, uh, wondering about the plan again. I might have forgotten."
Zach groaned. "Seriously? Alright, listen up—again. Mr. Big is going to take control of the city's cell phone tower with his newest device. Once activated, it will emit a magnetic pulse charged with Lexonite."
"Lexonite?" Chuck blinked.
Zach rolled his eyes. "You know, the one thing that weakens WordGirl? Try to keep up!"
"And with her out of the way, the Kratt brothers and those Earth brats won’t stand a chance against us!" Hacker added, chuckling darkly.
Chuck still looked unconvinced. "And while he’s doing that, what exactly are we doing?"
"Simple," Hacker said. "While Mr. Big is occupied, you all will create as much chaos as possible and keep WordGirl distracted." He smirked. "Meanwhile, I’ll handle the Cybersquad personally."
Zach huffed. "As long as I get to deal with those annoying Kratt brothers, I don’t care what you do."
Chuck shifted uncomfortably. "Are we sure this plan is going to work?"
"We’ll find out soon enough," Ledge muttered, watching the stage below. "They’re about to go on."
"Alright, everyone, get into positions!" Dr. Two-Brains ordered. "We only have one shot at this—so don’t mess it up!"
