Oikawa's POV:
As Oikawa left Y/N's house, the cool evening breeze brushed against his face, but his thoughts were far from calm. His mind was spinning with memories of their study session—how Y/N's eyes would light up whenever she explained a tricky math problem, how she laughed when he made a joke, and the way she gently corrected him without ever making him feel foolish. He smiled to himself, a warm feeling spreading through his chest.
The walk home was usually a chance for him to unwind after a long day, but tonight, it felt different. Every step he took seemed to echo with thoughts of Y/N. He couldn't help but replay their time together in his mind, from the way she scrunched her nose when she was deep in thought to the soft smile she gave him when he finally got an answer right.
Then, without warning, Oikawa felt his face heat up. "Oh no," he muttered, suddenly aware of the goofy grin plastered on his face. He quickly glanced around, half-expecting someone to have seen him. "What is wrong with me?"
He could hardly believe it—was he really blushing? He, the great Oikawa Tooru, blushing like some lovestruck teenager? He shook his head, trying to shake off the embarrassment, but it was no use. The more he thought about it, the more he realized that he wasn't just imagining things. He really liked Y/N, and that thought made his heart race in a way that nothing else had before.
Needing to talk to someone who wouldn't judge him too harshly, Oikawa changed course and headed toward Iwaizumi's house. His feet moved quickly, almost as if he could outrun the confusing feelings swirling inside him. When he arrived, he found Iwaizumi sitting on the front porch, enjoying the cool evening air.
Iwaizumi glanced up, noticing the flustered expression on his friend's face. "What's up with you, Shittykawa? You look like you've just seen a ghost."
Oikawa plopped down beside him with a dramatic sigh, running a hand through his hair. "Iwa-chan, I think I'm in big trouble."
Iwaizumi raised an eyebrow, his interest piqued. "Let me guess—it's about Y/N, isn't it?"
Oikawa shot him a sideways glance, a little surprised. "How did you know?"
Iwaizumi snorted, taking a sip of his drink. "Please, it's not like you're subtle about it. You've been acting weird ever since you started hanging out with her."
Oikawa groaned, leaning his head back against the porch railing. "Weird? How?"
"You've been smiling to yourself for no reason, you get all fidgety whenever she texts you, and you actually study now. The last one's a dead giveaway."
Oikawa couldn't help but chuckle at that. "Okay, fine, you've got a point. But it's not just that... I don't know, Iwa-chan. I've been thinking about her a lot lately, and it's kind of freaking me out."
Iwaizumi smirked, clearly enjoying this. "You, freaking out over a girl? This is gold. Tell me more."
Oikawa rolled his eyes, but he knew there was no escaping Iwaizumi's teasing now. "We studied together, and it was really nice. She's smart, patient, and she doesn't treat me like some celebrity. She's just... Y/N. And I can't stop thinking about her."
Iwaizumi nodded, leaning back and folding his arms. "She's different, huh? Not like those fangirls who only care about your looks or your volleyball skills."
"Exactly!" Oikawa said, suddenly animated. "She doesn't care about any of that. She doesn't even like volleyball that much—well, maybe she does a little, but that's not the point. She's genuine, you know? And she actually challenges me. It's not just easy compliments and giggles; she makes me want to be better."
