As the months rolled on, the relationship between Y/N and Oikawa grew stronger, becoming a fixture in the school's social scene. Everyone knew about them, from the students who admired their love story to those who looked on with envy. Iwaizumi and Himari, as well as the entire volleyball team, were genuinely happy for them. They had witnessed Oikawa's softer side, how he looked at Y/N with such tenderness, and how she brought out the best in him.
But not everyone was thrilled about their relationship. Oikawa's fangirls, who had once idolized him from afar, were now feeling the sting of unrequited admiration. Their jealousy manifested in petty ways, like slipping threat notes into Y/N's locker. The notes were full of empty warnings, written with shaky hands, clearly meant to intimidate her. But Y/N wasn't the type to be easily shaken.
Each time she found a note, she'd roll her eyes, toss it into the trash, and continue with her day. She knew they wouldn't dare follow through on any of their threats. Oikawa was adored, and his protectors were numerous, including the formidable Iwaizumi. Let them be jealous, Y/N thought with a wry smile. They're just upset because they'll never have what we have.
Rin, however, was a different story. She had started to distance herself from Oikawa, a move that didn't go unnoticed by Y/N. Although Rin no longer hovered around Oikawa, there was an undercurrent of dissatisfaction in her demeanor. Y/N could sense it whenever they crossed paths, a silent resentment that lingered between them. But Rin kept her distance, and for that, Y/N was grateful.
Meanwhile, Oikawa's life was filled with constant teasing from his teammates. The gym had become a stage for playful jabs and jokes, all centered around his relationship with Y/N.

In the gym,
During practice, Oikawa was running drills with the team when Iwaizumi lobbed a spike his way. Oikawa set it up perfectly, sending it flying back over the net with precision. But as soon as the ball hit the ground, Makki piped up from across the court.
"Nice set, Captain! Did Y/N teach you that too?" he teased, grinning widely.
The rest of the team burst into laughter, and even the usually serious Matsukawa couldn't resist joining in. "I heard she's teaching him all kinds of things. Must be nice having such a smart girlfriend, huh, Oikawa?"
Oikawa rolled his eyes but couldn't help the smile tugging at his lips. "You guys are just jealous," he shot back, wiping sweat from his forehead. "Not everyone can be as lucky as me."
The coach, who had been observing from the sidelines, finally chimed in. "Maybe if you spent less time flirting and more time practicing, we'd be unbeatable at Interhigh."
Oikawa laughed, shaking his head. "Come on, Coach, you know I'm giving it my all. Besides, having a girlfriend just gives me more motivation."
Iwaizumi, who had been quietly smirking, decided to add his two cents. "Just remember, if you slip up, we're all here to remind you of how whipped you are."
The whole gym echoed with laughter, and Oikawa shrugged, clearly unbothered by the teasing. It was all in good fun, and truth be told, he enjoyed it. It meant they cared, and that they were happy for him in their own, roundabout way.

In the evening,
After practice, Oikawa made his way to Y/N's house, eager for another evening of studying together. They had developed a routine, balancing their time between academics and their growing relationship.
That evening, they spread their books out across the table, diving into their studies with a mix of focus and light-hearted banter. Oikawa was determined to keep his grades up, especially since it meant he could spend more time with Y/N without worrying about falling behind.
As the evening wore on and their study session came to an end, Y/N looked over at Oikawa, a thought bubbling to the surface. "Tooru," she began hesitantly, "would you... would you like to stay over tonight?"
Oikawa looked up from his notes, surprised but pleased by the suggestion. "Are you sure? I don't want to impose."
Y/N smiled, feeling a warmth spread through her chest. "You're not imposing. I just... I like having you here."
Oikawa's smile widened as he nodded. "Then I'd love to stay."
Later that night, after they had brushed their teeth and changed into more comfortable clothes, they found themselves lying side by side in Y/N's bed. The room was dimly lit, the soft glow of a bedside lamp casting a warm light over them. They were facing each other, so close that Y/N could feel the warmth of his breath against her skin.
For a while, they just lay there, talking about their future, their hopes, and dreams. Oikawa spoke of his aspirations in volleyball, how he wanted to lead his team to victory, and maybe one day play professionally. Y/N shared her own dreams, her ambitions, and the things she wanted to achieve. They promised to support each other, no matter what, to always be there for one another.
As their conversation lulled, Oikawa reached out, gently taking her hand in his. "I love you, Y/N," he whispered, his voice full of sincerity.
Y/N felt her heart swell with emotion, and she leaned in, pressing a soft kiss to his lips. "I love you too, Tooru," she murmured against his mouth.
The kiss deepened, slow and tender, filled with the unspoken promise of their shared future. They held each other close, savoring the intimacy of the moment. As they pulled back, their foreheads resting against one another, they couldn't help but smile.
"I'm so glad we're together," Oikawa said softly, his fingers brushing through her hair.
"Me too," Y/N replied, her eyes fluttering closed as she basked in the warmth of his presence.
They continued to talk in hushed tones, their voices growing softer and softer as sleep began to claim them. Eventually, they drifted off, snuggled close, their breaths steady and even. The world outside faded away, leaving just the two of them, wrapped in the comfort of each other's arms.
And as they slept, dreams of the future played out in their minds—dreams where they were always together, facing whatever life threw at them, side by side.
