Iwaizumi grinned, clearly amused by Oikawa's sudden enthusiasm. "Sounds like you've finally found someone who sees the real you, not just Oikawa the Pretty Boy."
Oikawa gave him a mock glare. "Hey, I'm more than just a pretty face, you know."
"Yeah, yeah," Iwaizumi said, waving him off. "But seriously, Y/N's good for you. She doesn't put up with your usual crap, and that's exactly what you need. Plus, it's a nice change of pace for you to be the one doing the chasing."
Oikawa flushed again, the realization of his feelings hitting him like a ton of bricks. "You think she might like me back? I mean, she spends time with me, but what if she just sees me as a friend?"
Iwaizumi chuckled, giving him a knowing look. "Oikawa, the way she looks at you when you're not paying attention... trust me, she likes you. But don't screw this up by overthinking it. Just be yourself, and maybe try not to be so full of yourself."
Oikawa groaned, burying his face in his hands. "Why do you always have to be right, Iwa-chan? It's so annoying."
"Someone has to keep you grounded, Shittykawa," Iwaizumi replied with a smirk. "And for once, it's nice to see you actually sweating over something other than a volleyball match."
Oikawa laughed, the tension easing as they continued to banter back and forth. But even as he joked with Iwaizumi, he couldn't help but feel a sense of clarity. Y/N was different—special. And maybe, just maybe, it was time to stop playing games and start being honest with himself about how he felt.
As Oikawa finally made his way home, he couldn't stop smiling, already looking forward to the next time he'd see Y/N. Because this time, he wasn't just going to hide behind his usual bravado. He was going to show her the real Oikawa Tooru, and hope that she felt the same way about him as he was starting to feel about her.

Y/N's POV:
After Oikawa left, the house fell into a comfortable silence. The only sounds were the faint ticking of the clock and the soft rustling of leaves outside the window. Y/N sighed, feeling a mix of relief and something else she couldn't quite name as she started gathering the leftover study materials from the table.
Just as she was about to head to her room, her mother appeared in the doorway, a mischievous smile on her face. "So... you and Oikawa-kun seem to be spending a lot of time together lately," Mrs. L/N remarked casually, though the teasing tone in her voice was impossible to miss.
Y/N froze, feeling a sudden wave of heat rush to her cheeks. "Mom, it's not like that!" she protested, but her voice came out a little too high-pitched to be convincing.
Mrs. L/N chuckled, clearly enjoying her daughter's embarrassment. "Oh, really? Because the way he was looking at you during that study session... I'd say it's definitely like that."
Y/N could feel her face burning as she fumbled for a response. "We're just studying together! He needs help with math, and I'm just... being a good friend!"
Her mother raised an eyebrow, not buying it for a second. "Uh-huh, and is that why you couldn't stop smiling when you looked at him? Just being a good friend?"
Y/N's eyes widened in horror. "I was not smiling at him!"
"Sure you weren't," Mrs. L/N replied with a knowing smile. "But it's okay, sweetheart. He seems like a nice boy. And very handsome, too."
"Mom!" Y/N squeaked, feeling like she was about to die of embarrassment right there. She quickly grabbed her things and made a hasty retreat toward the stairs. "I'm going to my room!"
Mrs. L/N laughed softly as Y/N practically sprinted up the stairs, but she didn't stop teasing. "Just make sure to invite him over for dinner next time! I wouldn't mind getting to know him better!"
Y/N groaned, her face still flaming as she shut her bedroom door behind her. She dropped her schoolbag onto the floor and flopped onto her bed, burying her face in her pillow. "This is so embarrassing," she muttered to herself, though she couldn't help the small smile tugging at her lips.
For a few moments, she lay there, trying to will away the butterflies that had taken up residence in her stomach. But it was no use. Every time she closed her eyes, she could see Oikawa's smile, hear his laugh, and feel that strange fluttery feeling in her chest. And despite herself, she started to smile again.
Eventually, Y/N rolled over onto her back, staring up at the ceiling. "Get a grip, Y/N," she muttered, but the grin on her face only grew wider.
With a sigh, she got up from the bed and walked over to the standing mirror in the corner of her room. She caught sight of her reflection, and the smile on her face was undeniable. She tilted her head, studying the way her cheeks were still a bit pink, the way her eyes seemed to sparkle with something she hadn't noticed before.
And then it hit her, like a ton of bricks.
"Oh no..." she whispered to herself, her eyes widening in realization. "Shoot, I think I like him."
She stared at her reflection in disbelief, her heart pounding in her chest. A part of her wanted to deny it, to brush it off as nothing more than a silly crush. But the truth was staring her right in the face, and there was no use in pretending otherwise.
Y/N groaned, covering her face with her hands. "Why does this have to be so complicated?"
But even as she said it, she couldn't stop the smile that crept back onto her face. Because despite everything, the thought of seeing Oikawa again, of spending more time with him, made her heart feel lighter than it had in a long time.
