CHAPTER FIVE

It was May 9th now—a day before you and Osamu left for Greece, and Atsumu's wedding was only a week and a day away now.

Right now you were sitting in your living room anxiously working on another puzzle with a glass of wine in one hand. The puzzle you were doing now had been sitting in your closet for a while. It was a twenty-thousand-piece puzzle, of a wave.

You needed the distraction from how soon Atsumu's wedding was. It was working too but everyone you reminded yourself of why you were doing the puzzle, you took a sip of wine. So you were just a little buzzed and were barely getting the perimeter of the puzzle done.

This was the most you'd struggled on a puzzle ever, and it was obviously the wine holding you back. You were aware of it too but it was slowly helping you forget about the wedding. When you got wine-drunk, you just got giggly and hungry.

All you wanted now was cheese and crackers. "Ohh a charcuterie board!" you exclaim out loud in your quiet apartment. You stand up quickly from your assigned 'puzzle seat' on the floor in front of your couch. Sitting your nearly empty wine glass down next to the barely stated puzzle you rush to your fridge.

When you opened it and couldn't find the cheese you frowned. "No cheese are you serious?" You shut the fridge door feeling defeated and now—hangry.

How were you going to get cheese now? Maybe you could walk to the closest market or convenience store.

Suddenly you had a lightbulb moment. Someone who always had ingredients and only lived a few blocks away.

You grab your phone from your pockets and go to your recent call logs. You see the contact 'Samu🧑🏻‍🍳' and click on the call button. There are only a few rings before he picks up the call.

"Hello?"

"Hey Samu," you start to giggle while walking back to the living room. "Hi? What's up Y/n?" Osamu draws out confused. You don't immediately respond as you sit back down on the ground in front of your puzzle and try to connect pieces again.

"Can you bring....me cheese?" you ask, trying not to burst into laughter. There's some shuffling heard on his end of the phone and you put the phone on speaker before sitting it next to your wine glass. "Are you drunk?" he sighed at the realization.

You gasp—offended at the accusation even though it was true. You decided to respond by avoiding answering. "Please bring me cheese, I love you. Bye!" you gushed before hanging up the phone—not letting him get a response in.

For a moment after you hung up, you sat in silence before you burst into a fit of laughter at your actions.

You also expect Osamu to call you back as soon as you hang up but he doesn't. So naturally you go to text him.
