CHAPTER TEN

You left the dinner a few minutes earlier than the rest because you were getting tired quickly. You had a long day of walking around—mainly the resort—twice, in addition to walking to the boutique.

All you could think about now was taking a nice cold shower and hitting that king-sized bed. However, most of the elevator rides up to your room, you couldn't help but wonder what was going on at the 'family' dinner. What could they be talking about?

A part of you wanted to text Osamu to be nosey, but you opted out of doing so. So when you got to your hotel room, you headed to the actual bedroom and straight for the closet where you had unpacked your things. You didn't rummage for long until you found a pajama set you had packed to change into after your shower.

The shower which you were certain would be heavenly and release so much tension from your shoulders. When you and Osamu had checked out the room earlier you saw how spacious it was. Your jaw had nearly hit the ground in astonishment.

To say the least, the shower was exactly what you needed after such an odd dinner.

What was all of that weird talk about you and Osamu for anyway?

You can't help but play the conversation over and over in your head on a loop as you head to the bedroom. Where the plush bed was calling your name. So as you continue to replay the words of your friends you quickly drift off to sleep.

Not long after you've fallen fast asleep, Osamu finally arrives back at the hotel room. He'd immediately started unbuttoning the first few buttons of the shirt he was wearing as he let out a sigh. "A waste of my time," he mutters under his breath heading to the bedroom.

He expected to find you there awake but was shocked to see you fast asleep. He shook his head a little at the sight of you curled up peacefully before letting out a soft chuckle. So he gave himself a mental note to fill you in on dinner tomorrow. He was sure you'd want to hear about it with how nosey you could be.

Now his course of action was changing and he had decided to take a shower instead. Quickly grabbing a random shirt and a pair of sweatpants before heading to the bathroom.

For the past week, Osamu had this weird heavy feeling resting on his chest. It was as if pressure was being built up–he felt like a balloon that was ready to pop, but just couldn't. He assumed it came from the stress of running the restaurant.

Not to mention he had been looking into opening a new location.

Surely a nice hot shower would ease up all of the built-up tension, right?

Wrong.

By the time he had gotten back to the room fully changed he couldn't help but rub the nape of his neck while applying pressure. "What the hell?" he whispers quietly, trying his best to think of what could be causing such bothersome pain.

As he sat on the edge of the bed he glanced back at your sleeping figure.

It couldn't be you, could it?

The last twenty-something years of having a silent crush on you catching up to him. Was this his body's way of telling him he should just let his emotions out?

As the mere thought dawned upon the brunette he shook it away as best as he could. Now wasn't a good time–it was the worst timing actually. There was no way you'd even believe him with the timing.

His twin brother is getting married so he confesses to you? You'd think it was out of pity. Osamu knew you well enough to know that.

He let out a heavy sigh as he stood up and walked to the head of the bed and crawled in on his side. Pulling the blanket back and getting comfortable under them as he lay on his back.

Maybe he'd get some sort of relief if he told you now–while you were asleep. It couldn't hurt.

Osamu glances over at your figure which is facing the opposite of him–he can only see your back before he looks back to the ceiling.

"Y/n L/n," he breathes out in a quiet but shaken voice. "I'm in love with you," he whispers–his focus not wavering from the ceiling. "Wow," he muses, noticing the way his heartbeat seemed to grow steady since speaking those five words.

"I've never said it out loud," he notes, continuing to talk to you—or more so himself. "I couldn't even picture my life without you being in it," a smile creeps onto his face while his tone stays soft and just barely above a whisper. "Watching you always pine for Atsumu has always killed me inside just a little," he admits, feeling his chest grow lighter with each word.

His smile falters a bit as he proceeds, "You don't even realize that you know me better than you know Atsumu. You've always tried to convince yourself that you do—but you don't. Besides that, you're one of the only people to ever see me as my own person—not 'The twins' or "Atsumu's brother'," his small smile starts creeping back onto his lips.

"I hate that you're so unbelievably smart, yet you're so dense at the same time. I feel like I've been so obvious for years but you're too focused on Atsumu to realize," he's ranting now and growing irritated at the thought. "The worst part is, I feel like progress is made with us but then somehow, without fail Atsumu is brought up and it's like you remember his existence,"

He turns his head slightly to catch a glimpse of your still body and lets out another sigh. "If you could only open your eyes, then you'd know that I love you more than Atsumu ever could anyway,"

His words echo off of the walls of the hotel room and back to him. Osamu is surprised at the words that have been pouring out of him. Things he wouldn't dare say to you if you were awake. But it felt good to finally get them off of his chest.

To his pleasant surprise though, the impromptu confession made him feel ten times lighter. Like a burden, the size of Mount Fuji had just been lifted off of him.

"But you're asleep, and I wouldn't tell you this if you were awake—I'm a coward,"
