I've gotten use to these specific method of traveling from one spot to another. It always felt a little weird but there was a pulling sensation right when I would leave the travel and enter a different area. That's to say when I ended up feeling that pull I wasn't tired for once and managed to land. Somewhat. I stumbled a bit and used my strings to steady the rest that came out as well, not as awake as I was currently.
I was back. We were back home.
I looked at the pale square that had lead to my old home and watched as it slowly greyed out, going dimmer and dimmer. It became faded and completely colorless. It was useless.
I even opened up a screen to check and make sure for certain that it wasn't going to be a future problem. The data shown to me basically said that traveling into that area was no longer an option.
It was done, the connection has been severed. The rift should be closed up and no longer bleeding through and sending through whoever it wants where it wants.
I brought my gaze down at my hands. Multi colored bones, no skin and flesh, no oddities, and the usual feeling.
I flexed my hands a few times, refamiliarizing myself with the sight I was used to seeing so many times before. Having skin for a moment had definitely threw my mind in a slight tizzy but I was certain I was recovering from that.
I noticed I still had Nightmare's jacket on my form and planned to keep it on until I can get my old outfit back, or until I got a hold on one of the outfits Lust made for me.
I had no idea how Fresh managed to change so much when he took over me that brief incident but it's basically the rule with him I follow.
Don't question what he does. Makes things easier.
Speaking of, I looked over at the others in my strings and saw that they were coming to their senses. I kept the strands up and let them get themselves out of the loose entanglement. I ended up letting my gaze settle on the distance surrounding us. There was nothing besides the usual coloring of the Doodle-Sphere, just a reminder of how far out we had to travel to reach this area.
Not like it mattered much now. We weren't coming back over here anyways. With the connection gone there was nothing to do or explore.
"Alright! I'm free- ack!" I heard a thud and quickly looked seeing Fresh on the floor.
"...you good?"
"Peachy, give me a minute broski." He gave a thumbs up and just stayed on the floor. I looked at the other two. Gaster was brushing himself off and was looking at one of my strings. Nightmare seemed pretty composed. Dissappeared into a dark heap into the ground before popping up next to me wearing a new jacket. It didn't even register that the jacket I was wearing wasn't goopy at all.
"Good, that trip is over. No more of that, we're taking a break afterwards. No missions or tasks for a week. Maybe longer." He said sounding more than ready to be doing literally anything else.
"Didn't like being human?" I guessed and Nightmare grumbled.
"Not particularly. I like having power and I'm used to bones."
"Hmm, fair enough." I said with a nod. I was the same, preferring my boney appearance and powers over being a human. I'm fine with whatever I was.
A half-n-half, two souls bound together, a fused being, whatever I could call myself.
"You good Gaster?" I asked looking at the taller figure as he approached.
"Good? I'm fascinated. I must go on more trips like this. I can learn so much more compared to sitting in my lab."
"I'll uh... keep that in mind. I promise. I'll plan something, not now of course."
"Yes, not now. I heard what Nightmare had said earlier. You need to rest up and have time to yourself."
"Thank you, not just for this but for earlier too. You made things... not as hard as it would be to deal with." I had to admit that this little trip would have been a lot harder to swallow and deal with if he wasn't there with me, alongside the other two.
"Happy to be of use. But seriously, don't mention it. You don't need to thank me." He placed a hand on my head, carefully, an unsure gesture. I didn't give a negative response.
After that I looked over to the skeletal form that was still sprawled on the ground.
"Fresh-"
"Already up, brah!" He exclaimed as he moved his body around and got to his feet rather quickly. Already ready to bounce off the walls again, I do no envy anyone that's been around him as well.
Once hearing the okay Nightmare enveloped us into his darkness and we popped back up to the main area of the Doodle-Sphere. He was ready to be anywhere else and get this event done with.
I saw Ink, Fatal, and Gradient. I was relieved. After a quick reunion and explaining that the rift wasn't going to be an issue we decided enough was enough. I took Gradient with me to go home with Nightmare.
Fresh stayed back to send Fatal... somewhere. I wasn't sure, he just said something about 'knowing a spot' before disappearing in a poof.
Lastly, Ink was going to take Gaster home and do a quick sweep of everything to make sure of things.
I let out a heavy sigh was I stepped foot back into Nightmare's domain. I was in no mood to walk anywhere. As Gradient headed off, probably to find the others, I wandered to the main room and plopped down on a couch.
A quick nap sounded amazing. Being in a familiar area, despite the heavier atmosphere, made rest come to me really fast. I was out and would deal with things when I woke up. Later.
