Yeonjun sat in the living room with his parents."How is it going with Beomgyu?" His mother asked.
"It's going good. He invited me over to his place, I've already met his parents."
"You're serving us well son." His father spoke. "Im almost impressed."
"Well it's not like I have much of a choice." He muttered, resting his head in his hand as he looked annoyed at them both. "As long as you keep your word."
"We'll keep up our end of the bargain." His father said with an eye roll.
"Are we done here? I have to go head over to his house in about an hour and I'm wasting time."
His father waved him off with his hand. Yeonjun stood up and went to his room to grab the rest of his things and then taking a taxi to Beomgyu's house. When he got there his butler and maids were already waiting for him. He bowed politely and took his own bags into the house.
"Beomgyu-ssi, Yeonjun-ssi is here."
"Coming!" He yelled from upstairs.
He quickly came downstairs and smiled brightly at him. "Hi Yeonjun." He waved a little.
Yeonjun looked him up and down as he looked at his outfit. He was wearing an oversized long sleeve shirt that slipped off his shoulder a little with baggy pajamas pants.
"I'm sorry about my appearance I-I was in the middle of getting ready but–"
"You took cute." He smiled down at him. "Where can I put my stuff?"
"...uhh oh um we have a spare room you can–"
"I want to sleep in your room. With you."
Beomgyu turned red and turned around. "Follow me."
They went upstairs and into Beomgyu's room. He set up a futon for him on the floor.
"Was I not a good snuggle buddy for you? Hm?"
"...you wanna sleep in my bed?"
"We've done it before." He sat on his bed while staring at him, Beomgyu was playing with the hem of his shirt. "I'm just teasing, sorry."
"No no it's okay...do you really want to?"
"Do you want me to?"
Beomgyu huffed a little and looked at him. "You asked to sleep in my bed."
Yeonjun laughed a little. "I'll take the futon." He looked around his room and stood up. "Nice room, I don't think I looked at it very well last time." He sat at his desk and Beomfyu finished setting up his futon.
"It's nothing special." He said and heard him digging around in stuff. "Hey, what are you doing?" He walked over and gasped when he saw him flipping through his sketchbook.
"You draw?"
"Give–give it back!" He stammered and reached for it but Yeonjun stood up and moved away from him, dodging his hands. "Yeonjun stop!"
"I just wanna see."
Beomgyu gave up and stood behind him. Waiting, unsure of what he might say.
"These are amazing...you're really talented." He said as he kept looking and then paused. "Hey is this...me?" He asked showing him a page that was very obviously a drawing of Yeonjun
"Okay that's enough." He snatched it away and put it back in his desk.
"Why don't you do art? You're amazing at it."
"I gave up on that a long time ago Yeonjun. It doesn't make enough money."
"But it makes you happy doesn't it? You still draw."
Beomgyu looked at him. "Yeah of course it does. So does singing and dancing and cooking but I don't do those things because I have a duty to this family. My life is being a Choi, the best of the best so I have to focus on my academics." He grabbed his tv remote. "Enough about me...ahem, what about you? You never talk about yourself."
Yeonjun tensed up a little and sat down on Beomgyu's bed.
"There's not much to me."
"What makes you happy?"
"My friends, my grandma, that's about it."
"What are your friends like? How did you meet Taehyun?"
"In school, we are childhood friends. He's like a brother to me despite me being the only child." He explained. "We've always been close friends. What about you and your friends?"
"Hueningkai and Soobin, I met them in high school."
"...only the two of them?"
Beomgyu rubbed his arm. "I don't have many friends."
"You have me now." He smiled at him. "Tell me about your–"
"I wanna hear more about you." He sat next to him. "Are you...seeing anyone?"'
"I see you."'
Beomgyu laughed and gently hit his arm. "No like a girlfriend or something."
"Are you interested?"
He blushed and looked away. "No!" He went back to looking for a movie.
Yeonjun laid down on the bed as the movie started. It was a new movie, one he hadn't seen. A few minutes went by when they heard a knock at the door, he got up and opened it letting the maids bring in their snacks and food. Yeonjun quickly sat up and watched them set up a small table on the floor and lay out the food.
"Thanks but I can do it." Beomgyu said as he stood up to help.
Yeonjun joined him and the maids soon left.
"Why do you do that?"
"Do what?"
"You reject help but you're so quick to give it out?" Beomgyu didn't say anything. "...I'm sorry I shouldn't have–"
"Have you ever been taken advantage of?" He asked, not looking at him.
"Yeah of course."
"I hate when people do things for me because then they'll expect things from me. Things I can't give them." He smiled and clapped. "Let's eat I'm starving." He said quickly changing to subject.
Yeonjun sat with him and took a bite. "Amazing."
"I'm glad you like it!"
They continued eating for a while before Beomgyu decided to bring up his birthday to which Yeonjun responded.
"It's really not an important day. I don't like to celebrate." He lied.
"Oh, but it's the day you were brought into this world. I'm pretty happy you were born." He said with a gentle smile. "I can put something small together or just do dinner to celebrate. That would be fun, yes?"
Yeonjun saw the clear joy on his face and found it hard to say no to him, as a result, he ended up agreeing to a small dinner just the two of them for his birthday. It would make it difficult to sneak away to his real party but he could just move it to a weekend earlier.
"I would love that Beomgyu thank you."
