Taehyung sat on the cold edge of the bathtub, a razor blade held loosely between his fingers. The soft hum of the bathroom light filled the silence, a dull, lifeless sound, as if the world outside was already forgetting him. His phone lay beside him, screen dimmed, displaying a list of unanswered texts-messages left unread by the one person who once promised to never leave him behind.

(Still wanna continue?)

His thumb hovered over the last conversation with Jungkook, over messages filled with words that were too soft, too kind for someone who had left him in the dark time and again. But the bitterness, the pain that felt sharper than any blade, overshadowed the memories.

The night had fallen hours ago, and now, in the dim light, Taehyung felt utterly alone. He bit his lip to stop himself from crying, pressing his hand against his chest as if he could hold his heart together a little longer.

He took a breath, voice trembling as he whispered into the emptiness, "Why couldn't you just... be there for me? Just once?" His own words echoed, and he shut his eyes, remembering the countless nights waiting by the phone, waiting at places they'd promised to meet, only to leave alone.

He unlocked his phone one last time, scrolling through the messages, landing on one from a few days ago.

"taehyung! I'll make it up to you yeah?, I promise. Let's hang out this weekend hmm?"

But the weekend had passed, and Taehyung had waited for hours at the cafe until the lights dimmed and the rain came pouring down outside. Still, Jungkook hadn't shown up. When Taehyung finally found out, it was through pictures-photos of Jungkook laughing with his new friends, basking in his newfound popularity.

Taehyung's hands trembled, and his chest heaved with a mix of heartbreak and exhaustion as he remembered the last time they'd spoken.

"I need you kook..."

"you're always so needy, taehyun ! I have other things to do , it's not always about you "

The words still stung as fresh as ever.
