"Of course you know I do—but there's not enough seats," he says and you nod in an attempt to be understanding. "It's fine," you force a smile. "I'm actually gonna go show Hinata the pools and we can just head to dinner together," you say, stepping closer to the ginger.
At the right moment, you catch a glimpse of Osamu, who's giving you an empathetic expression. "Seriously I'm so sorry Y/n, but again it's just tonight," Atsumu repeats. "Then everyone will eat dinner however they please— up until rehearsal, then we'll all eat together and then again at the wedding," he concludes, plastering a big toothy grin on his face.
A thin-lip smile is the only thing present on your face as you nod at the blond. "Okay Tsumu," is all you say before turning to Hinata. "Let me show you the pools," you say, encouraging him to follow you.
The man doesn't hesitate to follow you before he waves goodbye to the twins. "See ya later guys!"
You stay quiet before you hear Osamu call out to you, "Y/n text me if you need anything!" The comment makes the corner of your mouth perk up just a little bit as you slow your pace and glance back.
"Will do," you reply with a quick thumbs up.
From there on you spent the next twenty minutes walking around the resort to show Hinata the pools. While simultaneously catching up with him and asking him about Brazil. "How's the food?" It was one of the first things you asked once you'd gotten to the third pool.
"Incredible!" He boasts—you can tell by the look in his eyes he had dozed off into a daze thinking about it. "I'm gonna have to come try, I've always wanted to go to Brazil," you say as the third pool room comes into sight.
Quickly you point it out and Hinata gasps. "And there's still two more? This one is huge!" He muses at the sight and you laugh and hum in response. "I know right?"
Ding Ding!
The notification sound came from your phone and you quickly pulled it out to see two messages from Osamu. "Ah," you say as you read the messages out loud. "Samu says that the dinners are in the same hall and basically next door to each other," you shared with Hinata. "So should we check out the last two pools and then head over?" he quirks a brow.
You shrug and give a curt nod, "Sounds good to me,"
So you showed him the last two pools before finding your way to the room Osamu told you about. As soon as you and Hinata entered the room you were greeted by the familiar faces of some of your old schoolmates who you had seen on the plane ride to the island. Along with others who you'd only known through the twins—more especially Atsumu.
"Shoyo!" Bokuto exclaims upon seeing the tanned ginger man.
You however fix your focus on the stunning interior of the room. It was like a mini ballroom and there was a long table full of food at one end of the room. "Is it like a buffet?" You question out loud to nobody in particular. "I—assume so—" Suna answers, stuffing his mouth full of food he had already grabbed.
By the time you get your food and settle down at the table in between Sakusa and Aran. You mainly stay quiet and listen to everyone else's conversations around you. Not feeling like you have much to contribute to the volleyball talk.
That is until Suna asks you a question from across the table.
"So are you still single?" The five words left his mouth so fast and caught you by surprise as you took a sip of your beverage. "Uh—yeah?" you nod hesitantly.
"Osamu is still too, right?" Aran asks which makes you tilt your head at him while your eyebrows knit closely together. "How come the two of you don't get together?" Hinata even chimes in from a few seats down.
You were so stunned as the conversation turned from something about volleyball to something about your and Osmau's love lives. "Yeah, I could totally see that!" Bokuto nods aggressively as he takes a large bite of whatever meat is on his plate.
"Where is all of this coming from?" you question as you cautiously move the food on your plate around. Suna shrugs at your question. "I dunno—general curiosity," he mutters. "Okay," you nod slowly, eyeing all of the men around the table. "But me and Osamu are just friends, that'd be weird,"
"Why?" Kita—who had been just as quiet as you and Sakusa most of the time—finally decided to interject.
You're a little flabbergasted at his sudden involvement—your jaw can't help but let. "What do you mean 'why?' it would throw things off," you ramble with a frantic shake of your head.
The brunette who had started the topic smacks his lips from across the table and rolls his eyes. "No it wouldn't," he retorts.
Just as you prepare to defend yourself you feel your phone vibrate in your pocket and you take a quick peek at the screen to see texts from Osamu himself.
Samu🧑🏻🍳
I wish I would've come to dinner with the rest of you.
This sucks."Look and she's smiling—I bet it's a message from Samu," Suna laughs, pointing out the grin plastered on your face. At the mention, you had quickly shut your phone off and wiped the smile off your face. "What? No, it's someone else," you lie quickly—not wanting Suna to be right.
Unfortunately the last person you'd expect to entertain this conversation child in is beside you. "No, it was Osamu. I saw," Sakusa confirms in a monotone voice and the room erupts into laughter.
Aran leans in beside you to whisper as the others continue to laugh. "Y/n, you're clueless,"
