The sun shines brightly over the Blue Lock Academy grounds, the energy electric as students gather for the much-anticipated sports festival. Banners flutter in the wind, and students mill about in brightly colored team shirts. You stand at the sidelines, arms crossed and expression neutral, silently hoping the day will pass quickly.
The obstacle course looms ahead, the centerpiece of the festival and the event everyone seems most excited about—thanks to the ridiculous prize the student council cooked up.
I can't believe they're actually doing this, you think as you shift your weight, glancing at the boys gathering near the starting line.

"Why don't you look more excited?" Nagi asks from beside you, his voice as lazy as ever.
"I don't have a reason to be," you reply flatly, not taking your eyes off the track.
Hiori chuckles from your other side. "I guess being the prize would be a little awkward."
You glance at him, raising an eyebrow. "A little?"
Nagi shrugs, pulling his phone out of his pocket. "If it were me, I'd just let them fight over it. Too much effort to care."
You don't respond, though a part of you envies Nagi's ability to stay detached from the chaos.

The whistle blows, and the boys take off like bullets from a gun. Rin and Sae are neck and neck from the start, their movements sharp and calculated. Shidou, true to form, is grinning like a madman as he shoves his way to the front, causing a few groans from the other participants.
"Look at them," Hiori says, shaking his head. "It's like their lives depend on it."
"They're idiots," you mutter, though your eyes follow Rin and Sae. You can tell they're taking this far more seriously than they should, their competitive spirits burning brighter than ever.
Nagi hums, leaning back against the bench. "I give it ten minutes before someone trips."

The obstacle course is no joke, filled with walls to climb, tires to jump through, and a mud pit to crawl under. Rin and Sae's rivalry becomes glaringly obvious as they jostle each other at every turn, their focus split between the course and each other.
"They're going to tear each other apart," Hiori says, sounding both amused and exasperated.
"Good," you reply, though your gaze lingers on the two brothers.
Shidou, meanwhile, is thriving in the chaos, laughing as he leaps over obstacles and shoves past competitors.
"C'mon, underlashes!" he yells, looking back at Rin and Sae. "Don't tell me this is all you've got!"
"Someone should disqualify him," you mutter.

As the finish line comes into view, it looks like it's going to be a three-way showdown between Rin, Sae, and Shidou. The crowd is on their feet, cheering wildly.
But then, out of nowhere, Nijiro Nanase surges forward.
"Huh?" you say, sitting up straighter.
"He was hanging back the whole time," Hiori says, sounding impressed. "Smart move."
Nanase's face is flushed with effort, but there's a determined glint in his eyes as he overtakes Shidou, Rin, and Sae in one final burst of speed.
The crowd erupts as he crosses the finish line first, looking dazed but pleased with himself.

You sigh as the student council president approaches you, gesturing for you to come forward. You can feel Rin and Sae's eyes on you as you walk toward Nanase, your expression as calm as ever.
"Congratulations," you say simply, stopping in front of him.
Nanase's cheeks turn pink, and he scratches the back of his head awkwardly. "Thanks, Y/n. I—I didn't think I'd actually win."
"It's just a reward," you reply, leaning in to press a quick kiss to his cheek.
The crowd goes wild, but you barely notice, too focused on Nanase's innocent smile. He looks more embarrassed than anything else, and you can't bring yourself to be annoyed.

Back on the sidelines, Rin and Sae are fuming.
"He doesn't even know what to do with it," Rin mutters, glaring at Nanase as he's swarmed by congratulatory classmates.
"It was a waste," Sae agrees, his tone cold.
You ignore them, sitting down beside Nagi and pulling out your phone. "Can we play now?" you ask, glancing at him.
Nagi nods, handing you a controller. "Finally. I've been waiting all day."
Hiori chuckles, settling in on your other side. "You're really not bothered, are you?"
"Nope," you reply, focusing on the game.
Let the boys sulk. You have better things to do. Like roblox.
