Dei's Pov

I shook my head strongly at Handell. My gosh!

Sa gwapo ni Handell hindi talaga ako nagkacrush sa kanya! He was sporty, always smiling, and smelled good... but I really didn't have a thing for him! I only saw him as my best friend's twin brother!

Heck! Where's that Hansel? Alam niya ba ito? Nasaan na siya ngayon? Ngayon ko siya kailangan! That Del Mundo! I need her right now to drag her twin away from here! He was—we were—getting attention just now!

Ewan ko. My heart was pounding so hard, knowing that Alcinous was around and aware of what was happening!

"Dei..."

"Handell no!" Mariin kong sabi kay Handell at halos ipadyak ko na ang paa ko sa sahig.

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Juls and Remy slowly gathering their things from the table.

I turned my head sharply toward them and shot them a piercing glare. Were they planning to leave me here alone? Handell and I don't need a private space or privacy since the guy is already pulling this public stunt!

"Mauna na kami," mahinang bulong ni Juls, tinuro pa ang exit ng canteen!

I shook my head.

"Hintay kami sa'yo sa labas!" ani naman ni Remy at siniko na si Juls.

Kaagad na sinukbit ni Remy ang shoulder bag sa kanyang balikat at si Juls naman ay inisang yakap ang kanyang bag at folder.

Bumuntong hininga ako.

Pinanood ko ang dalawang traydor na lumabas ng canteen.

"Dei," tawag ni Handell sa akin.

I looked at Handell once again.

"Handell, please."

"Manliligaw ako."

"No nga!"

"Bakit ayaw mo?"

Magagalit sila Daddy? Si Kuya Thales? Sila mommy at Ate?

Oh no! Ate would be even more thrilled if she learned about this! Siguro sila Daddy at Kuya lang ang mag-aalburuto!"

"Handell... I like you... I like your company. I just want you to be my friend. Also... there are a lot of girls out there, Handell. They would be more deserving of your love and attention."

Handell shook his head and stepped toward me. Niligay niya ang bulakak at boxes ng chocolates sa table.

"But I like you, Dei."

"Handell, I'm... I-I'm—"

"Gay? Who fucking cares?"

I balled my fists.

"No! It's more than that, Handell! Yeah, you know that I'm gay." Of course, from my actions, gestures, speech, and the way I carried myself, it was already obvious what my true colors were. "But, Handell, my heart doesn't sync with yours. I only see you as my friend, Handell. I'm so sorry."

Yumuko ako.

Shit! Ganito pala talaga ang feelings kapag may gustong manligaw sa'yo tapos hindi mo gusto? Nasasaktan pa rin pala kapag t-in-urn down mo?

Ayaw kong paasahin si Handell. Kasi kung papayagan ko siyang manligaw sa akin, masasaktan ko lang siya lalo, mas grabe na ang sakit no'n for him.

Handell has been good to me and has made me laugh, but that wasn’t enough. I appreciate his company and his silly jokes at times. I didn’t even see this coming! I thought he was just being thoughtful and friendly towards me. I thought nagbibigay lang siya ng chocolates and cookies sa akin because nature na niya iyon.
