He heard two gentle knocks on the door.
"Yes?"
Ms. Ahn opened the door holding a letter in her hand. "He sent you a letter."
"Put it with the others."
"...this one is different."
Beomgyu looked over his shoulder and saw that the envelope was red while all the others were white. His eyes stared at the paper in her hand, he turned around and took a deep breath.
"Please...please read it to me."
"Of course." She opened it and unfolded the paper.
Beomgyu's heart was racing as he went back to painting.
"Beomgyu, something tells me you haven't read any of my other letters. I don't blame you at all. I would ignore them too if I were you. I'm hoping the red envelope will have a sense of urgency for you to read it. I urge you to read the others please, I explained everything in the others. I don't want you to hate me as much as I don't blame you if you do. I messed up badly and I've never felt more sorry about something like that in my life. You taught me a lot of things yet I couldn't stop being selfish and thinking about how you may leave me if I told you the truth. Just know that whatever happens in the future, I hope you're happy. I'm going to miss you so much. Thank you for letting me experience real love for the first time in my life. It was truly everything to me."
Beomgyu lowered his head as his shoulders shook.
"That's all he wrote." She looked at him. "Do you want me to read the others?"
"Yes please."
She went to his desk and took the out, sorting them in order and began to read. In the first letter he apologized, in the second he explained why he did that and what his parents made him do. In the third he was apologizing again, the fourth one was full of begging for him to take him back, the ones after would life updates, what he had been doing or not doing since he too was heart broken, but one letter stuck out to him the most.
"I'm moving..." Ms. Ahn started, Beomgyu turned and looked at her. "I can't stand to look at my parents who never gave a shit about me. Although I can only blame myself, you understand that the reason I did it was to get my life back from them. I sent your dad a letter the night after we played golf, I told him to make sure he had a good contract and to not make the same mistake I did. I signed my life away to my parents without knowing any better and I had to use you to get my life back but instead, I found someone who gave the life I had meaning and in the end I lost you. Now my contract with my parents is over and I'm free to be me, but I am no one without you, so I'm moving. I'm leaving for the train station in a week, I've already started packing. I'll be on the next flight to Japan soon to stay with my cousin for some time. Beomgyu, I will never love someone the way I love you. Please take care of yourself and tell your parents that I'm sorry as well."
"When did he write that?" Beomgyu asked as he stood up.
"...two weeks ago." She lowered her head. "I'm so sorry Beom—"
"I can still make it!" He yelled as he ran to his father's office. "Dad!"
Sangchul jumped from the sudden burst and looked at him. "What is it?"
"I need your car."
"You don't know how to—"
"Father please trust me."
He dug in his desk and tossed him the keys. "Careful!"
"I will, thank you!" He ran out and went to the garage. He started the car and sped off. He called Hueningkai, telling him to text him Taehyun's number.
"Why? What's going on?"
"No time to explain just do it please!" He hung up and he soon texted him his number. He called Taehyun who didn't pick up at first and then he called again. It rang a few more times before he answered.
"Hello?"
"Taehyun it's Beomgyu."
"Beomgyu? What's going on? How did you get my number?"
"Is Yeonjun at the train station yet?"
"What? Train station? Why would he be there?" Beomgyu pulled over.
"He told me he was moving in one of his letters." The line got quiet. "Taehyun?"
"He already moved, he left two days ago. I'm sorry."
Beomgyu sat there processing what he said before he hung up. He went back home, his parents and Ms. Ahn were both downstairs waiting for him to come back. When he walked inside they could tell something was clearly wrong, especially since he came back so quickly.
"What happened?" Beoha asked.
"Yeonjun moved to Japan." Beomgyu said as he gave his dad the keys back.
"Oh honey, I'm so so sorry."
Beomgyu looked at his dad who stared back at him and sighed. "I'll buy your ticket for you once your figure out where the hell he's at first! I'm not gonna send you to Japan with no plan."
"Wait what?" Beoha looked at Sangchul then Beomgyu.
"Can't you just call him?"
"He probably has a new number by now." Beomgyu said. "Mom, I'll be okay and I know exactly who I need to talk to, to get his address."
...
Sijun heard the doorbell and one of the maids answered the door. After a few moments she came to his office.
"You have a visitor. Sangchul's son."
Sijun perked up and looked around before standing to go to the door. Beomgyu was waiting in the living room and before Sijun could speak he had already started.
"I know everything and I don't need you to tell me anything else other than where Yeonjun is in Japan."
