Jimin squinted at him, suspicion written all over his face. "Wait a second. Is it that day of the month?"
Jungkook's smiles widened. "Maybe."
Hoseok blinked, intrigued. "What's this day of the month thing?"
Jungkook put a finger to his lips, winking playfully. "It's a secret."
Namjoon and Seokjin exchanged knowing looks, both shaking their heads. "Forget about the party," Seokjin teased, crossing his arms. "How are you going to hide this from him?"
Jungkook shrugged, his confidence brimming. "Just like I always do. Smoothly." He turned to Yoongi, who had been quietly observing the interaction with mild amusement. "Yoongi, get my things ready by the usual time, okay?"
Yoongi raised an eyebrow but saluted with mock seriousness. "As you command, boss."
The group dissolved into lighthearted chuckles as they began filing out. Hoseok, however, lingered behind with Jungkook to dive into the contracts and auditions for Bright Entertainment. They discussed the details of prospective brand collaborations, how to approach upcoming auditions, and the media coverage strategies they'd need to implement.
It was mid-afternoon when there was a knock at the door. Jungkook, momentarily engrossed in a brand pitch from Hoseok, looked up to see Taehyung entering with his usual composed demeanor.
"It's time to go," Taehyung said simply, his tone all business.
Jungkook blinked, a flicker of realization passing through his features. He had completely forgotten about the schedule Taehyung had mentioned earlier. Quickly turning to Hoseok, he said, "I need to head out now. I'll see you tomorrow."
Hoseok raised a brow. "Is it that politics thing?"
Jungkook shrugged, smirking faintly. "Had to find a middle ground."
"Poor you," Hoseok quipped sarcastically, earning a chuckle from Jungkook.
As Jungkook and Taehyung stepped out of the office, Jungkook glanced sideways at his shadow of a bodyguard. "So... what's the schedule, anyway?"
Taehyung, who was a step behind Jungkook, gave a small, unreadable smile. "Speech."
Jungkook stopped mid-step, turning around to face Taehyung, confusion etched into his expression. "Father's giving a speech?"
Taehyung's lips curled into a sly smile, his eyes glinting with mischief. "No," he said smoothly, tilting his head. "You are."
Jungkook's eyes widened in disbelief. "What??"
Taehyung shrugged, his tone nonchalant yet laced with amusement. "Well, I did try to tell you over the past few days, but being the brat you are, you didn't listen. So I figured, it's fine. You're so amazing... so talented... I'm sure you'll handle this small thing, right? It's just a speech."
Jungkook stared at him, his jaw slack. "You—what—how—"
Taehyung simply brushed past him, motioning for Jungkook to follow. "Come on, Mr. Jeon. You don't want to be late for your debut as the face of the campaign, do you?"
Jungkook groaned, dragging a hand through his hair. "I swear, you're doing this on purpose."
Taehyung grinned without looking back. "Who, me? Never."
"I hate you," Jungkook muttered under his breath as he reluctantly followed.
"Of course you do," Taehyung replied lightly, glancing over his shoulder just enough to send Jungkook a knowing look that made his stomach twist in frustration—and something else he refused to acknowledge.
