Jungkook sat on the plush couch, his shoulders hunched and his head low like a child caught sneaking out past curfew. His lips jutted out in a pout as he fiddled with the hem of his sweatshirt, glancing up every now and then at the towering figure in front of him.

Taehyung stood there, arms crossed and jaw tight, exuding pure authority. His sharp gaze bore into Jungkook, making him squirm under the weight of his disapproval.

"Listen..." Jungkook began weakly, his voice barely above a whisper. "It's not even—"

"Not. A. Word," Taehyung snapped, cutting him off with a sharp edge to his voice.

Jungkook instantly shrank back, his pout deepening. "You're being mean," he muttered, his tone more petulant than apologetic. "I'm your boss, you know."

Taehyung leaned forward, his presence overwhelming as he invaded Jungkook's personal space. His voice dropped into a low, dangerous growl. "Then maybe you should first learn how to be mature enough to be someone's boss."

Jungkook blinked, his lips parting, but no sound came out. He was at a loss for words, his usual confidence nowhere to be found.

"I—what do you mean?" he managed to stammer.

Taehyung straightened slightly but didn't back off. His eyes remained locked on Jungkook's, their intensity making Jungkook's heart race. "Sneaking off, racing on a dangerous track—you call that maturity? What the hell were you thinking?"

"It wasn't that dangerous!" Jungkook argued weakly, gripping the armrest of the couch like a lifeline. "It's just a race. Harmless fun!"

"Harmless fun?" Taehyung's voice dripped with incredulity, his scoff loud in the tense room. "Do you have any idea how reckless that was? What if you'd gotten hurt? Or worse, if you'd been caught by the police?"

Jungkook flinched, his ears burning under the reprimand. He wanted to fight back, but Taehyung's sheer presence—combined with how good he looked in that damn black jacket and crisp shirt—had his mind running in circles.

Taehyung leaned in further, the heat of his proximity making Jungkook's breath hitch. "What's wrong, Jungkook? Cat got your tongue?" he asked, his voice a sultry mix of sarcasm and authority.

That's the first time Taehyung called him with his name with that rough baritone voice of his. Jungkook couldn't stop the shivers than ran through his body at hearing that.

"N-No!" Jungkook spluttered, his hands gripping the couch harder. He tried to shift his gaze but couldn't help glancing at Taehyung's lips for just a second too long. "You're overreacting! I'm an adult! I can take care of myself!"

"Oh, really?" Taehyung's eyebrows lifted in mock surprise, his smirk sharp and cutting. "And that's why you thought it was a good idea to mix sleeping pills into your bodyguard's drink? Care to explain that part of your so-called maturity?"

Jungkook's eyes widened in shock. "H-How do you know about that?"

Taehyung's eyes darkened as he whispers, "The powder remains at the glass's corner weren't really invisible,"

Jungkook stared at Taehyung, his lips parting in shock but no words coming out. He had genuinely believed his plan had been foolproof, but here was Taehyung, towering over him, dissecting his every move like it was child's play.
